No need for surrender/munich/bombers chants

Featured Replies

as a part german, with my mother born in ramagen just outside of nuremburg, the RAF song is far from offensive. if more kids ask why they are singing it, then they might bother to listen in history lessons.

British history is being wiped out by the pc brigade.

Stop singing the chant? You sound like a paid up member of the PC brigade to me.

:-s

eh???

I thought he was saying there was nowt wrong wi singing the bombers song??

He still bombed our chippy. [-X

ohh the irony.

we have one thread about how the game has become boring

and another saying that we should n't sing offensive songs.

1. Munich songs, i do nt sing because it just gives them something to bleat about when we beat them, not because it may offend someone

2. no surrender, only thing that pisses me off is that the government die eventually surrender to the IRA, hence the number of murderers walking the streets of Belfast.

3. german bomber song, is boring more than anything else but funny when playing in europe.

it is a game of football maybe half the problem is people taking it too seriously and analysing everything. (and yes i do see the irony in that)

Couldnt agree more. I join in with the keep "St George in my heart" and the "bombers song" although not out of any political statement or anything too deep, but its good to have a sing song now and again with a different song!!

Who is this desperados guy? This boards to PC haha

If anybody would seriously be offended by German Bombers I would be very surprised. It's one of the more wider appealing songs about, and generally sung with a smile on the face. The '10 Suicide Bombers on the tube' song is a bit more controversial.

The St George No Surrender song is obviously a different matter and is undoubtadly confrantational. nonetheless, it's another one of my personal favourites and a song Ive always sung at England games for years. Although it's lost it's relevance, it's still two fingers up to the PC brigade and a very patriotic song, regardless if some people do not view the song as 'the right type of patriotic'.

With the Munich songs, they are generally a tool to either wind up United chaps directly or to show others how deep your hatred is for United. When I used to regularly sing such songs I never actually pictured people dying on a runway. When I saw some of the 'rawer' photos taken of the crash, I certainly gave it a second thought and gave some thought as to what is actually being sung - though I generally doubt that most people think about the song in any detail - Certainly not when your 10 pints to the good.

Singing songs at football has never been exculsively about 'getting behind' the team, and to my knowledge there have always been songs relating to other things. If we were limited to songs about the team and players it would make for a tad boring song book....

bolton bolton ra ra ra

At least I won't hear "we're all going on a european tour" anymore by the little chavs who have been no further than blackpool

I found the "If it was n't for the English you would be Krouts" a tad ignorant and stupid too.

I should go "If it was n't for the English, the French Resistance, the 9 million Russians soldiers who died.....we would be Krouts"

Why do we think that it was just the British who won WWII?

Yes. A hamper from Fortnums should be compulsory.

As is the song proclaiming that "we are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen". I am true Bolton but perhaps Brazil 1970 would have the edge on us for that one. :D

I also know that the drunk bloke in the Upper East does not keep chickens in his backyard regardless of what he sings every home match.

Nor am I a hero of the Bolton Fusiliers, despite the fact I'd rather f??ck than fight.

And why come on you White Men when Gardner, Okocha, Ngotty and Faye are playing as well.

However, yesterday's travelling supporters were quite entitled to sing:

" W??nky, w??nky, w??nky, w??nky, w??nky Wanderers!"

Wierdo.

You should fight then f??ck

I agree, but the song says: I'd rather fcuk than fight.

If I could only choose one, it'd have to be the sex.

But there was indeed "only one Taddy Nowak" O:)
