I think that if thirty+ years ago, when I strtaed watching Bolton, someone had said we'll eventually becone a regular top-half club in the top English League I'd have thought they'd got a screw loose.

the only problem with this season is that the clubs recent succes has raised peoples expectations.

so if you think where we were the day of the first leg v marseille and look where we are now, you have to say it aint as good as it could be.

BUT (a big but)

if think where we are compared to B.S. (before sam) it is incredible how far we have come and how much we have acheived.

when Sam took over, both Stockport and Bury were above us.

this weekend, we are competing to finish 7th in Prem and get into Europe for a second consecutive season - they both have massive games to stay in the league.

6 1/2 years is a long time eh?

don't get carried away - one of the most sucessful seasons in the clubs history.

Check that Mike. :-k

Stockport could have been but Bury where not in the same division. The bucketshakers fall to where they belong began the previous season.

as far as team success goes, ive never seen it better!

the only thing that makes the season 'poor' now is the fans moaning (yes me included at times) and football changing in general, which can not be help i suppose...

This has been for me the most disappointing season since 99/00

Our UEfa cup run was nothing special.

Not a great season by a long way

This has been for me the most disappointing season since 99/00 when we lost three semis and Sam blamed the ref for losing the play offs.

Our UEfa cup run was nothing special. It ended when it should have done.

The style of football at home isnt as good as it was when we had Djorkaeff and our away results have been dire for a few months.

Are you for real or is this a fishing post?

All set for another top 8 finish in the Top Division of English football that could produce the European Champions for the second consecutive year.

Your comment on the UEFA Cup cant be for real, surely? First time in Europe and we play 8 games that gave us memories you couldnt even dream of 5 years ago.

Smell the grass and wake up [-X

Surely george is fishing????

What a load of SHITE!

If he's fishing he has caught me. That has to be the stupidest post of the season bar none!! [-X

I'm just f??cked off at the lack of ambition shown by the board.

We had it all in December, uefa, fa cup, strong league position then the board decided not to strenghten the squad in January, now look at us, f??ck all

i see your point but who could we have signed that would have improved things? Apart from Portsmouth I can't think of any team that made big signings in January who made an impact and we didn't have the 16 million that they did

These are the games AFTER the close of the transfer window,if we had strengthened, maybe our season wouldn't have fizzled out.

Lets put this in perspective eh ??

Our hopes of playing in the Uefa are slipping away, if not already gone.

But we, will all still be here moaning and groaning next season and thereafter.........

FOR GOD'S SAKE GET A GRIP !!!

strengthening wasn't the issue

losing Diouf and Campo was and no one could've come in to replace them

Jansen could've been good but injuries have held him back

which could also happened to any player of any quality whom we may have signed
