Quinton Fortune:

I know it's early days for QF and he's not had much match time etc etc,

BUT if Nicky Hunt had played like QF did in the 2nd half, he'd have been lynched.

QF seems hopelessly out of position too often and gave away a needless penalty. He actually should have had another penalty given against him when Roberts was penalised for handling. Fortune had got the wrong side of him and was all over him before the ball came in to Roberts.

So far, the jury's out IMO, but it's not looking great.

When we signed QF,i had a word with one or two Man Yo ST holders about him, they said the bloke was absolute quality - but as a left sided midfielder. They also said we were getting a top drawer player - IF he stayed injury free.I know he needs more time/games,but i've not seen much to get excited about - YET. We live in hope.

No problems for me, it is only what you would expect. He is not 100% yet, he is playing out of position with lads he is not used to in a system he is not used to.

It is the same with Anelka these players need time to bed in. We shouldn't expect too much too soon and Sam Allardyce has got a brilliant track record of buying the right players.

personally i think if fit he will be a top player for us solid in the tackle and a good steady pro, IF he gets 10 games under his belt you will see a difference, if he does not stay fit bin him after the 1 year.

Fortune has had one bad game, and the wanderers are already sharpening their knives.

F??ck me - we're flying this season & we can still find reasons to moan

one bad game? ive not seen him have a good game!

i was all for QF's signing, as a thought he was a very decent player.

seems i was wrong.

hopefully it just a settling in thing...

So having Aaron Lennon in his pocket v Spurs was a bad game then?

I don't think he's been bad at all, the problem is most of you are just nit-picking, as per usual. He was sh??te v Jackburn, well, so I'm told, I was f??cking sh??t-faced by about dinnertime :good:

fortune has been solid and dependable in his games this season (cept Blackburn)

just what we want in a defender

yea possibly, maybe i was just expected too much of him to start with.

Let's give the lad a chance

He isn't really a left back either lest we forget, he was signed because he could cover there but he is primarily a midfielder

i would say, that he's third in line for the full back spot

tall ben and gardner - when fit - are very much in front of him

at this stage, i'd even put tbh in front of a fit gardner

despite being right footed, the bloke has been nowt short of brilliant

and don't forget, dennis irwin - spit - was the best left back in the league for years, despite only having a right foot

not really a left back me thinks :good: but time is needed

As Bogs says when we signed QF i had three or four Manure season ticket holders

saying if fit he would be one of BSA best signings has made to date. Tbh you dont stay at

a club like Manure for seven seasons if you aint got a bit of class about you. Give the lad

a chance ffs one bad ish game and we on his back

think qf was a bad signing..never been fit..but rather have a cardboard cut out than nikky hunt..the club say they have to have high ticket pricing to bring in and pay quality players. yet in nh they have someone who cant actualy pass a football to one of his own players!!too many players on high wages who have no technical ability are killing the game..jimmy greaves said "they used to turn footballers into athletes, now they turn athletes into footballers..

f??ck off Natasha

jury is still out for me, i would like to see him given a go on the left side of midfield for a game just to see what he has to offer there as i dont see him as and out and out defender. he seemed to get caught out of possition a few to many times in the secound half on sunday.

In response to those who have posted so far:

I'm not getting on his case, nor am I saying he's shite.

I just think the jury's still out on him and that his display at Ewood was poor and a similar performance from Hunt would have had everyone screaming for his head.

Nicky Hunt is a defender who can't defend.

Quinton Fortune is a left sided midfielder, only a fool would judge him on performances at left-back.

he was purchased as cover for leftback was he not?

he was purchased as cover for leftback was he not?

Wouldn't have thought so, we beat City and Celtic to him so I doubt he'd be thought of as third choice left back

Bought more as a midfielder as Faye was moving back to centre back

I think he's been pretty good. Blackburn aside.

i like that :good:

who would u prefer Henrik or QF as Ricky is still injured

big ben

Lets be honest, we are used to seein Ricky at left back n becos tht guy has been consistently quality over the last few season, QF has high expectations to live up to. Give the guy a chance, Okocha was awful when we 1st signing n became a legend, wudnt say QF has been awful but give him time.

Let's be honest. I can hardly understand a word you're fooking saying. Are you Albanian?
