What great entertainment that was tonight, the skill on the ball was a joy to watch.

I came on here tonight expecting a long thread about this match. It was a very exciting game and I don't care what people say about Mourinho either, I think he's great.

aye, twas a good game but I still don't beleive chelsea are 'world class' regardless of their array of so called talent. In the first half Barcelona's finesse made them look very average.

On 92 minutes, Barca were pilling forward even though they were 2-1 up. Made a refreshing change from Physco screaming at his players to take the ball into the corner. However, Barca's tactic wasn't quite so successful.

 

I'll be gutted if the Dingles get Barca in the UEFA.

I was more concerned with Eidur's injury, loked a bad 'un.

I bloody fell asleep sometime during the frist 20 mins and missed the lot - typical!!!!

Good game, but it showed how football is becoming non-contact now. I've never seen so many players rolling around on the floor before.

 

Drogba - good player, but his diving is f??cking annoying.

lets not get carried away the first half was stop/start to the max. very irritating

One incident in this match summed up everything I hate about football today. In the second half Deco went down under the slightest of contact and was doing is usual play acting. When Terry kicked the ball in his knackers he couldn't get up quick enough to confront him and then demand a yellow card.

I can see the logic in making sure the ref knows its a foul if you have been impeded (somethign that Lee Bromby didnt do the other week), but rolling around like Deco did (and Drogba and Marquez and Robben etc) is horrible.

 

On the subject, Stelios' dives really annoy me. He loses more decisions than he gets because of his amateur dramatics and I wish Sam would have a word.

Chaps and chapesses, you really need to watch La Liga more if you want to see diving.

I used to watch the Italian stuff week in week out on Channel 4, and for a few weeks it seemed like the bees, but petered out to a series of 0-0 or 1-0 results, and overall the season that they all went on strike and television coverage ceased, was probably the best.

 

The Spanish league does look a whole lot better overall, despite the theatrics.

 

Personally I was hoping for humiliation, a Lampard break, and Drogba walking to the sidelines with a caved in head.

When those two games were played, we were all over the place, on the pitch, and behind the scenes.

 

What I meant was, I'm 'glad' we went out to someone decent, because the way we looked in those few weeks, we could (and would in my opinion), have lost to pretty much anyone, i.e. a bunch of part timers from the Faroes etc.

Newcastle certainly aren't going to be in the frame, don't reckon Pompey will show consistency needed, and Villa, despite picking up no end since O'Neill came in, not convinced their current form will continue with the players they've got, and the transfer window signings will have to settle.
