Tal Ben Haim

Bolton seem likely to lose Tal Ben Haim for ??3.5m to Spurs, who want to plug the gap in the squad that will be left if Anthony Gardner goes to West Ham.

Chelsea are baulking at Bolton's asking price for Ben Haim, but Portsmouth are also interested in the versatile Israel international defender.

Injury-prone and is convinced he's better than he really is.

Stay clear. Understand Sam trying to resurrect people's careers but trying to turn injury prone players into non-injury prone is near impossible.

Example: Fortune

spurs been linked with heinze today, and seem manure are willing to let him leave.

can play at leftback or centre half, world class in both departments.

available for 4m or so i think

how about him then?

Would be a great player for us but I very much doubt we can pay his wages and also believe he wouldn't want to come to Bolton. Once word gets about I think other bigger clubs will move for him

dunno about 'world class in both departments'

folk like that don't leave united for 4 million, homer

not unless theres something seriously amiss

Did Horse Face not leave for ??7m?

i'd rather have Brown than Hienze imho

neither will come due to wages

Hasn't looked the same player since his injury, I suspect Ferguson thinks he'll never be the same.

Would love to see him here though, ex-united or not.

He's never been world class but he is a bloody good player.

Thing is though, I think Faye and Meite are the future for us, so maybe we don't need to sign a top centre half at all, more a cover player?

Heinze is awesome, best left back in the League, cant understand why United will let him go.

i dont believe in buying cover players.

new players bought should be better than current players, only way to progress imo...

Then we don't need to buy a centre half, we've got 2 good uns. When you get to the point of 'better than what we've got' those players are few and far between and we can't afford them !!! I wouldn't rate Heinze or Upson as better than we've got at centre back (although it's early days with Meite).

If we are buying 'better than what we've got' then Right Back is the obvious place where that is possible. And I'm not slating Hunt - it's just obvious.

Maybe cover was the wrong word, more like untried, like Ben Haim himself when we bought him.

He was before his injury - now he's being kept out of the team by Evra.

I rate Evra. When i have seen them he looks a very very good player

Utd fan at work reckons Heinze will be a makeweight in the Hargreaves deal
