Tal Ben Haim

Bolton seem likely to lose Tal Ben Haim for ??3.5m to Spurs, who want to plug the gap in the squad that will be left if Anthony Gardner goes to West Ham.

Chelsea are baulking at Bolton's asking price for Ben Haim, but Portsmouth are also interested in the versatile Israel international defender.

if he doesn't want to sign for us then sell.

yes I agree but we can't really afford to let him go he's one of our most consistant performers.

Whoever gets him is getting a cracking player.

if he doesn't want to sign for us then sell.

Let him fcuk off on a free at the end of the season. He's worth more to us staying if it helps us get a UEFA spot

not if he is playing with no commitment

not if he is playing with no commitment

He'll have to carry on playing well otherwise the likes of Chelsea won't touch him with a shitty stick at the end of the season. If he throws his teddy out of the pram then it's only going to harm his career.

if he doesn't want to sign for us then sell.

Agreed, Get rid

Rumour's iv'e heard he's already signed a new contract with Bolton

A bold statement that, Dolly.

I met PG at the Wembley train station yesterday and was talking to him for a while and he said that Tal will deffo be going a tthe end of the season, No matter what we offer the guy wants to move on....

Also any rumours about rio cocker are false as well. of course he could have just been bullsh1tting me.

If that's true, Garty and Sam are in a difficult position:

A) Keep him for the season, hope he contributes massively, then let him go for nowt.

or

B) Sell him, with all interested parties (via his agent I'm sure) knowing he wants out.

If we go with A), I have no doubt someone as professional as Tal Ben will put his all in and play 100%, but we lose out on a transfer fee.

If we go with B), I have no doubt that we will sell at less than his market worth as it will be known in Chairmen's circles that he could leave for nothing at the end of the Season. Maybe that's where this "offer he can't refuse" has come from - Garty trying to generate a bidding war by upping interest and his perceived worth to us?

Decisions like this is where PG et al earn their corn.

if we can get a couple of millions (which i doubt) sell him and buy a replacement.

faye and meite will do me as 1st choice for the rest of this season.

im spilt on this one, If T B H doesnt want to play for us anymore the ok, thanks Taliban but

shut the door on your way out. He is a great player and gives 100% every game but no one is

bigger than our club imho. Im sure Sam and Mr Fax will make the right choice in whatever they decide

According to Kevin Nolan in his column he says he thinks Tal wants to stay at Bolton.....

"We have a couple of players in that situation - Tal Ben Haim being one of them. Lots of different papers are linking him with different clubs.

At training we tend to try to make a bit of a joke out of it, telling him that we are sick of him and that now the transfer window is open we might be able to get rid of him!

But although Tal might be going through a bit of a tough time sorting out the right contract for him, his team-mates will not be making it any worse by constantly asking if he is going to sign a new deal.

On a serious note, I think Tal wants to stay at Bolton. He has done well since he came to us and he has been well looked after. "

Full column!

He's our best defender so I would definitely keep him until the end of the season, and then we have more time to look for a replacement. The ??2-??3m we may lose out on will be cancelled our by our higher league positioning - if one of Faye or Meite gets injured then who plays centre half? There isn't anyone.

TBH is definitely a top pro so he will still put the hard yards in as his contract runs down.

for me that's the crucial bit in all this

as posted above though, whether he stays or goes, it'll be because sam/pg think its the right thing to do

i'm happy to trust their judgement

If he goes in Jan then he will have to be replaced in Jan, I doubt his replacement will be as good but should do fine standing in for faye or meite.

I'm split on this one, its a win-win and a lose-lose situation.

as faye is preferred back up for campo, we could probably do with another centre half whether he stays or goes

maybe the helguera deal can be resurrected - either ch or midfield

Let him rot in the reserves

Get some man management Sam

Cant blame the lad.....but fcuk him off.
