spurs and Charlton did not want to take Murphy back

as part of the Darren Bent deal.

Lee worked as a coach when murphy 30, was at his peak at anfield.

But since moving to london, Murphy has struggled to find the sort of form

that saw him win nine caps.

decent player murphy, i wanted him for us a couple of season ago when a swap deal with bowyer was mooted.

Am I the only one that thinks Murphy is past his best. Another Thompson I think. We can do better for them kind of wages. I would rather take a chance on an international player from a team like Nigeria or Ghana or Ivory Coast for cheaper wages.

In ANC year, we're better off not signing any more Africans.

Murphy is only 30, has never relied on pace for his game either, so should still have 3 years in him. A touch of creativity in the middle and a good shot on him. If he's going cheap then he's a steal.
