August 14, 200718 yr bit complicated, we are but boltonians still say lancashire n put lancs on their letters n address, still gets ther n also lancashire cricket club is based in manc so its all pretty much lancs anyway
August 14, 200718 yr I hate that example. Where did having Bolton and Wanderers wrapped around the badge come from? I can't remember the club ever using it. Now this is the proper badge (in more ways than one!!):
August 14, 200718 yr good point yatesy couldn't find t'other one. even if we are in greater manc now, (which we are but not pleased bout) when we were formed we were in lancashire. Look even wikipedia says so, not that this is to be trusted 100%
August 14, 200718 yr Are we not in Greater Manchester now rather than Lancashire? Thought that was just a council adminstration thing rather than physical geography. Like the way some of the borders of Kent, Surrey and Essex are policed by the Met.
August 14, 200718 yr Are we not in Greater Manchester now rather than Lancashire? NO NO A THOUSAND TIMES NO
August 14, 200718 yr are you sure? As I understand it, the borders of Lancashire never moved when Greater Manchester was created as it's not a county but an administrative area. A bit like Humberside/East Yorkshire.
August 14, 200718 yr As I understand it, the borders of Lancashire never moved when Greater Manchester was created as it's not a county but an administrative area. A bit like Humberside/East Yorkshire. In one. Unless you're from Stockport, then you'll tell everyone you're a manc.......................alreet Jules!
August 14, 200718 yr As I understand it, the borders of Lancashire never moved when Greater Manchester was created as it's not a county but an administrative area. A bit like Humberside/East Yorkshire. not sure miself when you drive from Horwich towards Adlington there is a sign that says "Welcome to Lancashire" but Lancashire play at Old Trafford my advice if you're that arsed would to be more tribal - it's Bolton and Bolton only, why would you want to have something in common with folk from Blackburn and Burnley by claiming to be from Lancashire?
August 14, 200718 yr Author Now this is the proper badge (in more ways than one!!): It's an absolute design classic, don't know why the club scrapped it in the first place. I hope that they're going to listen to the supporters this time, after all we're the ones that are expected to buy all the merchandise. I personally haven't bought a thing since they changed the badge. Don't suppose anybody's got an e-mail address for Phil Gartside?
August 14, 200718 yr Author chairman@bwfc.co.uk Ta. I'll e-mail him the results. Whether they'll listen or not is another matter.
August 14, 200718 yr Ta. I'll e-mail him the results. Whether they'll listen or not is another matter. I would send him a fax
August 14, 200718 yr Yeah, I still put my county as Lancashire. It is wonderful afterall It's full of tits, fanny and the Wanderers....................

August 15, 200718 yr Apparently the results were rigged... http://www.the-wanderer.co.uk/boards/viewt...p=272815#272815 What a set of self righteous cocks and old wimmin! Because we don't have the same views as them makes our poll wrong/rigged does it? Utter hogwash and balderdash!
August 15, 200718 yr i like this post about wways being busier than the-wanderer... I agree - it was much busier but somewhat less intellectual(!) than TW when last I visited.
