Eddie - I made that point yesterday. We missed the boat with Jussi a month back. Since then Carson has gone to Villa, Dudek has gone to Madrid and Kenny has signed a new contract at Sheff Utd.

 

The fact we have 4 backup keepers to Jussi in the first team squad means one thing to me - the management of this club expect the need to use them during the season = Jussi to leave and a youngster out on loan.

 

I aint for one minute saying any of the back up keepers are as good as Jussi but why else have 4 of 'em!

He has done nowt wrong in the European and Cup games he has played for us and IMO he could have been pushed Jussi very hard for first choice if given a run in the team.

I agree with you, while he's not Jussi, he's a very able replacemtn who hasn't dropped a single clanger when he ahs played.

Jussi had a shocker against you 2 seasons ago, but I can assure you he has many many more outstanding games then he does shockers.

 

IMO he is in the top 5 keepers in the premiership, along with Van Der Saar, Cech, Given and James.

Jesus he's much better than James. Both Chelsea keepers would be in that group, jussi's kicking is the only thing that puts him behind them, but I would argue he's the best shot stopper of the lot. (except when on his arse waggling a foot at deflections)
