To be fair, the lad is far too good for us and you can't blame him for wanting to play for a bigger club. He's good enough.

Hands up who isn't waiting for a big club to spot them.

My point exacty. If Nolan came out with comments like that folk would say who the hell are you? and he would get grief from the fans big time. NA is class and we are very very lucky.

The Elk is good enough to play for most teams in the world and it has been a pleasure to have him

in the white shirt of Bolton imo.

If we can keep him until the end of the season Ill be happy.

We need his experience in europe.

If he wants to go next summer and the right price comes in then let him go. Cant force him to stay.

I can't really blame him for wanting to leave , i'm sure when he signed he heard a lot of guff about the clubs ambitions, but as we all found out this close-season (and last January) the Davies/Garside combo will be satisfied with staying up and dipping their snouts in the premiership trough for another season.

If Anelka wants to join a club with a bigger fan base and more money - that's fine. Many players have left the club with similar ambitions and faded into obscurity. I always maintain it's down hill wants you leave the whites.

 

But it gets me so annoyed when fans say "he's too good for us". That's crap. No one is bigger than the club. I want our club to win the champions league as much as any other clubs fans. We're not that far behind mid table and theres a whole season to go. Stop being so negative you lot.

 

The problem with the club is not Phil Gartside, though arguably he might hinder success, but the fans and their lack of support. Only 18,000 on Thursday night in a competition we might never qualify for again. That's terrible. Some fans "we're a small club and happy to be that way" turns other supporters off from turning up. Lack of atmosphere from so called season ticket supporters adds to the poor image of the club.

 

It's time to get behind the club not attack it.

There is no way around it, he is too good for us. Simple as. He knows he can play a higher level than Bolton. If we were signing world beaters - then he would fit it but we don't sign world beaters.

Ooh thats an aggressive post.

Not an ambitious managerial appointment, not ambitious incoming transfers and although at first glance it may seem we signed quite a lot of players we actually lost/released quite a few from our already thin squad from last season.

Now why don't YOU tell ME what we did do over the summer that points to ambition? Over to you.

It makes me wretch when someone who has just signed a contact on ?70K a week plus wants to go.

 

The guy although talented should be forced to keep his mouth shut.
