From what I have heard and read about Megson's typical team selection and playing style at his previous clubs - I expect the two players you mention to feature heavily.

Our midfield last night was embarrassing they were so short on creativity it was excruiciating at times.

 

Alonso or CAMPO (lsl dig sorry) can at least pick a pass and create summert

The one thing I can say about CID, is that he makes a better left back than central defender.

early in the first half nicky hunt linked up with the forwards and found himself upfront on the right wing, no one supported him, he played a ball that anelka would have had to move about a yard and a half for, anelka was moving the other away, a simple understanding as much the elks fault as nicky hunts but hunt gets booed and slagged off.

 

why play cid as left back and ricky upfront surely after so long out ricky needs games in his best position ?

 

oh and btw if henric had the ball 40 yards out and tired to chip a dwarf in goal and the ball did nt get above chest height he would have been slaughtered.

I think the bloke has been quality for us since he's been here and I hate to say it but I'm also of the opinion that Speed's not the force he once was - maybe he should start tough away games where we need to consolidate and not concede early on, or be used as a sub to help the midfield protect a lead but he's no longer a 90 minute player IMO.

 

I think the fact he played last night will mean he's not starting on Sunday.

 

But then again we have a diff manager for then...

 

McCann and Alonso are just not quite there - probably both Championship standard for me.

 

Central midfield is a worry; the ideal situation would be Nolan there, but back on form.

 

And whilst he's still a liability for me, I'd play Campo at the moment - which is a big change of mind from me from a few weeks ago when folk were clambering for him and I hold my hands up to that.

No he didn't, he came as a box to box battler.

For me it was the right decision to bring Guthrie off. He was hitting some wayward passes and running into blind alleys.

That decision was justified as we scored shortly after. That is a fact you cannot argue with.
