November 14, 200718 yr Every day of the week for me its Bruce. Every single day............... And IF he goes to Wigan he'll keep them up. So its down to us, B /ham, Boro and Reading for the last two places. It could have been Jol or Bruce but its Megson. F***** Hell. I,ve been ill but even in my darkest hour not that ill. Why did we pick someone who has won 6 Prem games in total? Pathetic choice. 1 (ONE) WIN out of 13 4 BWFC with Munich, Scouse next? A possible 8 points out of 15 games needs a miraculous recovery to get out of the bottom 3. Megson. My God. Gartside F*CK OFF
November 14, 200718 yr No point crying over spilt milk, Tony. We've got Megson. Chins up and all that.
November 14, 200718 yr It was the boards money rather than Bruce's great management that got Birmingham up and kept them up.Bruce or Megson would be a difficult choice for me. Getting West Brom up was a better achievement than getting Birmingham up, but Megson does have a poor record in the PL ,albeit with Championship quality players.
November 14, 200718 yr Every day of the week for me its Bruce. Every single day............... It could have been Jol or Bruce but its Megson. F***** Hell. Birmingham City wouldn't let us speak to Bruce, and Jol was still Tottenham manager when we were appointing.

I bet you are a bundle of fun on a night out! The glass is definately half empty for you my friend!

Steve Bruce is an amazing manager, who achieved so much at Sheff Utd, Huddersfield, Palace, etc. before betraying Palace and jumping ship after only a few months in charge. Only a tactical mastermind like Bruce would be genius enough to purchase Clint Morrison from his former club for ?4.5m, only to sell Andrew Johnson to Palace in return for a cool ?800k. Of course, there's more to it than the transfer market. Although he did spend a wise ?2m on Jaidi. But Bruce has had cash to spend at Birmingham, and their fans still aren't happy. Sure he's solidified them, but we've had a decent enough start prior to Megsons' reign, and we need to get behind him. Then again, you refuse to get behind the club whatsoever, so what's the fcuking point you jumped up prick. As bad as Sunday was, and as much as we are unsure regarding the team selection, if we'd had Anelka and/or Diouf fit we would probably have won.

You people make me laugh. 1 (ONE) win out of 13 (THIRTEEN) games. Simple really. Next.
November 15, 200718 yr I was surprised as anyone when Gary Megson was named as manager. We must give the guy time instead of slagging him off at the first opportunity. My opinion for what it's worth, they guy hasn't done much wrong yet considering the players he has had fit. Maybe, just maybe if Anelka had been fit and Diouf not suspended, then Megson may have had his first win in charge of us. As it stands he hasn't but that's not for the lack of trying with walking wounded players. As for playing the scum, well even a fully fit side would struggle with them. They do look good even thought it pains me to say it. So expect a 0-4 drumming. Chin up Tony
November 15, 200718 yr You people make me laugh. 1 (ONE) win out of 13 (THIRTEEN) games.Simple really. Next. I see that they didn't give you a repeat prescription. As others have said, chin up mate. Most of us were against Megsons appointment but we have no choice now but to back him to the hilt. I must say I have been happy to see us back to our uncompromising self of late and the result in Munich was one of the greatest in the clubs history. Surely you can pick some positives out of that? I remain 100% convinced that we won't go down and the margin we miss by will not even be close. You can all give me a hard time at the end of the season if I am hopelessly wrong.
November 15, 200718 yr I love Tony Cee He never ceases to bore the piss out of me WWs one stop insomnia cure
November 15, 200718 yr Bruce is not only a worse manager than Megson, but an ex red. Megson will get plenty of points, but all will be from drawn games with his 8-1-1 rubbish.
November 15, 200718 yr If we had advertised the job in the summer we could have had top class managers jumping at the chance, if you look at getafe in the spanish league they are a smaller club than Bolton, but have a potentially world class manager in Michael Laudrup they are playing attractive football and geting good results, we have missed a golden opportunity in the summer and gartside may be remembered for that mistake rather than the appointment of Allardyce.

Gartside F*CK OFF No Tony, getting 2 (with a better goal difference) or 3 points more than one of Boro, Brum or Sunderland (not including others) and none less than Wigan and Derby over the rest of the season will see us finish outside the bottom 3. If that's what you call miraculous, you'll be claiming you've seen Jesus in your Soreen next you negative prick.

I agree with your sentiment, but don't think Laudrup is the best example; Getafe have picked up recently, but they've had a bad start to the season, many of the squad are unhappy and there have been rumours he was close to the sack. The appointment of Sammy Lee proved that a manager with no previous experience is always a gamble, and just because Laudrup was a top player doesn't mean he'll be a good manager, though I'm sure he'll keep on getting high profile jobs just like Souness, Robson and Francis will.
November 15, 200718 yr Bruce is not only a worse manager than Megson, but an ex red. Megson will get plenty of points, but all will be from drawn games with his 8-1-1 rubbish. Megson is red. Drawing isnt good enough to stay in any league.
November 15, 200718 yr You people make me laugh. 1 (ONE) win out of 13 (THIRTEEN) games. Simple really. Next. But those statistics are saying that LSL was the cock not GM. Let him prove himself. Apart from the dodgy penalty decision against Ciddy we're unbeaten. OK we've not won but who'd have predicted a draw against Munich?
November 15, 200718 yr Birmingham City wouldn't let us speak to Bruce It would appear that the problem was compensation since Wigan have apparently been given permission to speak to Bruce after agreeing compensation with Birmingham. If that's true, it suggests that Megson got the job because Leicester wanted less compensation for Megson than Birmingham did for Bruce.

If that's true, it suggests that Megson got the job because Leicester wanted less compensation for Megson than Birmingham did for Bruce. My gut feeling was the timing. Bruce said he wanted to speak with his new owners before making any decisions. They kept avoiding him and we were in desperate need to make an appointment. Maybe since then, he's spoke to his owners and they are wanting rid of him.

Judging by the comments coming from Birmingham, the Chinese consortium seem to be dragging their feet about every aspect of the takeover. Maybe they just don't feel that they can stand in Bruce's way any longer. Incidentally the guy fronting the takeover used to be chairman of a club called Hong Kong Rangers and had a bit of a reputation for interfering in team matters by all accounts.
November 15, 200718 yr Megson was appointed so soon after the Lee sacking that I'm fairly certain he was the man Garty wanted all along, he was essentially headhunted.
November 15, 200718 yr Is it a Wigan thing..........going back for managers who have fucked you off previously. Jewell and now Bruce. I would rather have Meggers (the messiah) anyday than old Ricky Hatton nose. (Bruce) .........would still have preferred Hoddle..but hey.......thats life (awaits jimmy joohar and enzo gambaro comment with baited breath!)
November 15, 200718 yr In ideal world, we'd have prefered not to have to make any choice between two distinctly average managers. I was gob smacked at some of the names touted for the job when lee left but looking back, there wasn't a great deal of quality out there who would have been interested in joining a club a)in the bottom 3 of the prem, with a track record of having a tight fisted cu*t of a chairman and c) having a non too trustworthy chap offering his services in apppointing a new manager. the bottom line is we have megson in charge and should get behind him and the players he ppicks to play for our club. so far i like what he's done. i think essentially he's another allarydyce in his tactics and whether we like it or not its worked for us in the past. come the end of the season when we've secured safety, lets wish him all the best and be in a better position to attract a proven manager who can help us defend our uefa cup crown!* *not actually sure if winners can defend if not qualified through league but nice thought anyway
November 15, 200718 yr Every day of the week for me its Bruce. Every single day............. blah blah blah blah Roy Evans or Sam Alladyce? Believe it or not I wanted Evans because he had just left Liverpool. I was thinking along very similar lines to what you are now TC. What you reckon Tony?
November 15, 200718 yr Megson was appointed so soon after the Lee sacking that I'm fairly certain he was the man Garty wanted all along, he was essentially headhunted. Both Coleman and Souness were interviewed, that's on the record, but I agree. Which leads us back to Mark Curtis; we wanted Megson, he wanted the gig, we approached Leicester directly, WTF has he been paid for?
November 16, 200718 yr Ok - maybe we could have had a higher profile manager in the summer...would Gartside have paid for him though? No he wouldn't. He took on Sammy Lee as a big risk and failed miserably and now we have an experienced manager that has nothing to lose at Bolton so no point moaning. We are very lucky this year in a lot of aspects that Wigan, Derby, Brum, Sunderland, Boro and Fulham have worse squads than us (IMO) so there is no reason why we shouldn't get ourselves out of this.
November 16, 200718 yr now we have an experienced manager He's experienced in managing in the Championship. Maybe that's the long-term strategy.
