But who knows, with rumours flying about Beinitez being sacked, there is hope.

 

I am 100% certain that he will play for England when he is older (although even I could play for England at the moment)

From the sounds of what's going on there though, making money is the most important thing. If the accountants see a profit, he'll be ours.

If Anelka goes in January (& if he wants to we all know he will) and if we get ?16m and if Megson gets to spend it all then we might see Guthrie and a few more in a White shirt long term.

Would love to see him signed, amd hope your right. Speed supposedly goin in January (Sheff Utd) and McCann/Alonso not reliable. Fingers crossed

 

According to one of the many papers i have read this mornin, Sir Gary is after Radoslav Kovac (Czech centre half) 1.2m, Paul Robinson (WBA defender) 2.5m. Looks like is priority is with defence. especially with Meite off to African nations cup.

if southampton did want to buy him then i doubt guthrie would have made much fuss about wanting to leave liverpool and wanting to go there, but if bolton want him and we finish a respectable half way then surely for the sake of his career he would make a fuss about wanting to leave for bolton

If Benitez is being told to sell in order to buy, if he has Lucas, Gerrard, Sissoko, Mascherano, Alonso ahead of Guthrie, if we are looking for new blood in midfield (which we need to) it makes sense for all parties

That might be our best chance - Benitez (if he remains) not realising the potential of Guthrie, and seeing him as 5th or 6th choice behind "superstars" who he can't regularly leave out, and ?2-4m being worth selling him for.

Actually, looking at it more closely there are more than a few names in that squad list that shouldn't be there, so perhaps that's not the most reliable source!

whatever cash megs gets has to be spent on guthrie . he has skill to burn and looks like he enjoys bolton .

Guthrie won Man of Match award against Middlesbrough in one of the corp hospitality suites, basically said he loves playing for Bolton and if the opportunity came of signing he would seriously consider it as he thinks his chances at Liverpool could be limited, spoke very well, doesn't sound like a scouser by the way.
