If they're not up for it then all we can do is get our lot together.

One can only assume that thery are a big multinational type of organisation, so I have been in touch with a charity that helps run hospices in Serbia; http://www.hospicesofhope.co.uk/index.html I have made contact with them, who say "Thank you very much for your kind offer. We would most certainly be able to use this money." I reecommend that we offer our Dinar to them. I have spoken with the Bolton News & they will run it as a story, but not (as yet) collect funds. I am gonig there on Friday to outline the story-does anyone else want to come? I just need to confirm how to collect funds and am hoping to have done that later today (any thoughts?)

Well presumably this hospice place has a direct postal address - in fact they do, I've just looked. Hospices of Hope 28a High Street Otford Kent TN14 5PQ The BN could say either send them there (between a bit of cardboard in a normal envelope should stop robbing posties getting suspicious - though maybe BN could phrase that better ; and people could be reminded to specify its part of this particular appeal so they can keep a running total) or PM someone on WW to either get an address or meet to hand over stuff at a game. Make a deadline the end of Feb so that you might collect some off people in Madrid?
Traf Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 For what it's woprth, I think you're better off collecting all the money yourselves and handing it over in one go, rather than the charity receiving loads of envelopes containing the equivalent of 6p and a potato.

SatanGreavsie Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 You're right though, for people with trivial amounts it would be a bit daft sending it rather than pooling it. But when its the ?20 worth that lots from the werthers trip will have (thanks to never getting the chance to spend it or change it back) then sending wouldn't be such a bad idea if its the easiest way. Perhaps TMG would like to chip in as well

globaldiver Posted January 13, 2008 Author Posted January 13, 2008 OK, we're up & running. BEN & BW will not collect, so I will. I estimate that there could be ?4,000+ of Serbian Dinar around Bolton (+ across the country) So, let's out it to use. I'm in the BN tomorrow, I think, but please PM me if you have any currency Cheers bd To date > ?100-worth collected.
Traf Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 If there's over ?4,000 worth, collect it: fly to belgrade and by us a striker.
