Fa Cup

Featured Replies

I didn't miss an FA Cup match in the 90s.

It was exciting and exhilarating.

My "addiction" stays with me and I haven't missed many matches this decade, even though the club generally haven't taken the competition seriously.

Well, now that is it.

Until I know that they are to take it seriously, I will not attend.

I get back the use of my time and money.

Enough is enough.

I dont think you will be the only one. BWFC could have been one of about 10 premier teams left in the 4th round. I didnt see Man Utd resting many of their superstars.

Part timer.

I am a 100% of the first team, not the reserves and triallists.

Thinking again

If the club can pick and choose

I can pick and choose

Part timer?

Look, I don't give a shit what anyone thinks about me. I do care about this club.

but if manure get injuries, they have players of equal ability to come in...

ok then what is the point of bolton wanderers ?

we do not take cup competitions serioulsy we concentrate on the league.

we are never going to win the league so our top aspiration to qualify for europe.

if we do qualify we will not take it seriously because it is only a cup competion.

so our sole purpose is to survive in the premiership, to do so we play boring unattractive results when we need to.

there is nothing good about this and nothing to encourage anyone to consider giving up good time and money.

our club along with many other is on its arse, as we have over performed for years we stick out like a sore thumb, we can only mustewr 8000 at ?10/15 per ticket and ?1 for kids

we took more than that to the replay at liverpool, how many to arsenal ? southampton ? for cup replays ....

I would compare our problem to having a sh1t job that pays loads of money.

It's pretty dull most of the time but you are used to the money and now depend on it.

Eamonn Holmes, not my favourite person, but he came out with a goodun on the radio this morning. In the light of Dave Kitson's comments about the FA Cup, he asked 'when did footballers start talking like Accountants?'

Megson took the pragmatic approach. I am guessing his job is tied to Premier League survival. Fact is we would not have won the FA Cup anyway and we are better off out of it. Pragmatic also regarding the Anelka situation.

In days gone by, the prospect of a plum tie against the munichs or some other big name drove us on. We play the filthy tw@ts twice a season now so even that incentive has gone.

Fact is, the Premier League exists for the benefit of the big four and that is where the money is. Not only BWFC took the pragmatic approach and got knocked out. Just erase it from your memory banks.

fookin spot on imo =D>

i love the fa cup but if i had a choice between staying up or good cup run

i know which one i would choose.last season we had enough points to have a go

but this year its all about staying up & having a do at the uefa cup

I really couldn't get up for this one. I suppose reading all the negativity on here contributed to the decision.

Ended up going to David Lloyds, thought i'd watch / listen to sports saturday and they didn't even have sit on in the gym.

And i didn't miss that either. the first i knew about the result was a text from a blade at work. He got the standard reply that I wasn't ?rsed & didn't go to his cup final 'cos i'm saving up for a trip to Athletico Madrid. That's where the excitement lays nowadays...........

but as a professional..

don't you go out to win every game?

shouldn't every player / manager be wanting to win every game?

Isn't that what sport is about?

or am i missing something here?

and it would not have taken a full side to knock out sheff u a decent mixture of first team regulars and the likes of andranik wilhelmson from the start would have been good enough, megson does not impress me 1 bit.

andranik not playing was nowt to do with disrespect or not caring

lee and megson clearly don't fancy him

come on I'd expect better from you...

OK then...as a business don't you want to suceed?

good results mean more good publicity...

mean more interest...

mean more punters through the door..(or not in our case)

mean more investment...

I would of thought irrelevant of how important the prem is...we should be aiming to progress as far as possible in every competiton we enter...

utter crap, the worst performance I have ever seen from a bolton side

it doesnt matter how much it costs to go

no one will go to watch crap

If Megson wanted a look at cohen he could have watched

him in the second team, he took the piss today. i for one

think if we give the F A cup a real go we could get to the final.

It is a bigger cup than the uefa cup will ever be.

mind you Munich away was the best day of my life.

Edited by M G WHITES

I went today but I don't think I will bother going to any more cup games until the club take it seriously. I was robbed of ?15 today to watch a fooking abysmal performance. This is not the way to get the fans back. Today proved we have no strength in depth because all the players that were given a chance to stake a first team claim did not take it. Sheff Utd are struggling in the Championship and also had players missing but they were up for it.
