The Phil Gartside Thread

Featured Replies

I reckon the blokes done a cracking job over they years, despite the ups and downs, we're still solvent, in the Prem, and in a few weeks time playing Athletico Madrid the UEFA cup.

The bloke deserves more credit than he gets.

I agree. Also he is handsome and seems extremely honest and trustworthy.

I agree, Smiffs, his good housekeeping has kept the good ship Reebok afloat, I wouldn't buy a used car off him though

And Phil will insist that the ?15m is re-invested in new players.

I hope he has chat with his Rovers counterpart on Sunday about season ticket pricing.

Bet he's got a 12 inch weapon too.

250k a year is 5k a week.

I'd say he puts in 50 hours a week with the Wanderers.

Thats 100 pounds an hour.

A backstreet solictor charges more than that.

Should he paid 250K per annum?

In the grand scheme of things, ?250K per annum isn't a lot of money really

50 hours/week; has he given up his other jobs?

Bloke in charge of a soon-to-be-abandoned IT type project on our site is on about that, so I learnt today.

Surely he can't be putting in 50 hours a week at BWFC ? He has at least one other major job.

Anyways ....

In some ways, PG has done a good job - look where he's taken the club over the last few years.

However ....

He always said it was his job to make sure the club didn't overspend and stayed solvent (and ED said the club should pay its own way).

So if the club's debts have risen to ?45m (as some say - I don't know) then, NO, he's done a f*ck awful job.

i think he does a great job for BWFC and gets a lot stick for no reason. We are a small club. our fans are begining to get like the barcodes

"We will continue with our on-going transfer strategy"...

I don't think now is the time for wind up's do you...

Apart fom this

"Yep, done a good job and bought me a bottle of Vranac in Serbia"

No chairman is ever likely to win a popularity contest. Step back, examine the facts (i.e. our record during his tenure) and then tell me Phil Gartside has not been good for Bolton Wanderers.
