Darlinton

Who really did go that Bonfire night.

You know which one i mean if you 30 or over.

Truth.

Now they were bad days,on the pitch anyhow.

I don't think you could call it a pitch a Darlington........moss bank park muni pitches had more grass and less mud. Did you go to Hartlepool when we had 4 different types of weather on that lovely open terrace (rain, sleet, snow and wind), I even had a weird type of "sun burn", although that was from the wind....but wind burn sounds a bit gross

I bet it was a more enjoyable night than at the Reebok stadium......despite nobody bothering to go.

I was 7yr old at the time, so I'd have probably been at Vic bommy on COR.

No, was it 3 nil, sat in my mates van with it on the radio.

I had to look it up, but it was 4-0 to us, but it was bloody cold.

Went to that one, a 4-0 defeat as I recall

Wasn't Hartlepool a three sided ground at the time or was that Mansfield?

Living in London then, so zippo chance of getting up for a midweek home to Darlington. :nea:

Consolation was that I still there (just) 7 years later to witness 1987 folk turn up for the league cup 2nd leg against Wimbledon at Selhurst.

Looking on the stats site the lowest gates:

League Newport (A) 04/04/87, 1193

FACup Wrexham (A) 16/11/85, 2738

League Cup Chester (A) 14/9/83, 1502.

Must have been summat about Wales and the borders :pardon:

I suppose someone went to all 3 ??

I was stood on that corner of the terrace at Selhurst Park as well, must have been 100 -150 from Bolton.I can remember talking to a vicar from Bolton that night.

I went to the Darlo match also. And as i have 2 copies of the programme, somebody else of this site must have done as well.

They were always a bit fly with the official gate at Burnden!

Is 1987 the number of folk or where they time travelling folk FROM 1987? I may have been at the Darlo' match but really can't remember, went to a lot of games at that time, in fact it was probably my most regular period of home and away attendance but the football was that poor I think i've (mercifully) blocked it from my memory.

that game. Just brought back memories for me.
