Why would we let a decent young defender who's getting a fair amount of first team football leave?? Especially just when it seemed we'd sorted our defence out after 2 clean sheets. Maybe not first choice but good for the squad and for the future

I would agree if we hadn't have signed Cahill. Michalik is now surplus to requirements, We have Cahill (also still a young up and coming player and a lot more highly rated), Who I think is still around 28 so not old, and Miete who I stil rate a lot when next to a leader. Add to that Fojut (another up and coming prospect) and Steinssen if needed and there is no need to have Michalik.

 

I also think that even though he didn't look bad in the Premiership, against any decent striker with a bit of pace and he would be a liability. He will do well with Leeds though.

Agreed - Meite for me should go in the summer & keep Lubor, just farm him out on loan.

 

That said I think there's only a couple of years between Cahill & Lubor so is he really the best prospect of the two? Probably not.

Agreed Hunt has had a decent season but he's now second choice

 

Vaz te has had plenty of chances to prove himself and hasnt, no signs of improvement on the early signs of raw talent

 

I would like to see Stelios playing but Megson clearly doesnt think so

J'o brien is not upto a job in any position in a premier league team. His distribution is appauling.

 

My point is why are we releasing Wilhelmson and Michalek who would be of more use than any of these 'squad' players in the run in.

I am disappointed. Michalik showed a lot of promise and had a great game against Bayern Munich. The moaners who would find fault if we had Ronaldinho referred to his lack of pace, but I didn't see it againast a quick attack in that game.

Still here mate. Don't let them get to you - most of it is just youthful exuberance or manic depression. I am fairly happy with the recent signings and have no problem with who we've let go. For my money, Wilhelmsen is too powder puff for the EPL and, although Lubo had some good strengths (particularly in the air), he was as slow as a wet week.

 

Like everybody, I would have loved to have seen us sign a top line striker but in the real world, it just ain't gonna happen is it? Who is available? Who would come up north?

 

We don't have the same drawing power as we had under BSA but, of course, the same whinging fookers posting now are, in many cases, the same ones saying 'glad the fat potato head went'.

 

I gave up even despairing with the fookers years ago. No point. "I pays me money, I can moan if I want" syndrome. No point trying to fight it - just ignore it and it will go away.

I thought Michelob had potential.

Alright he wasn't the fastest but he has had some very solid games and has been

part of the last few weeks, when we haven't shipped many goals.

We paid feck all for him, He will be on the minimum wage. We should have kept him for the championship.

Can't understand that one. He has played in the last two games in which clean sheets have been kept.

 

If AOB or Cahill gets injured in the next 3 weeks we will be using unexperienced centre backs to cover until Meite gets back.

 

 

Maybe though, it was his missed chances on Tuesday. Sadly he will be remembered for putting that chip wide with the goal empty.
