There are a lot that gravitate towards the ESL (I know I am one of them). The majority of 30+ers are scattered about the other stands. That's were the real passion lies.

When the reebok opened everyone (without a clue where to get thier seats for), tried to match burnden park. I.E. like me got season tickets just past the halfway line towards the away fans to try to match the burnden terrace. Others wanted the equivalent of the manny road etc.

 

With the exception of a few occasions it hasn't worked. Where 7,000 could scare the crap out of opposing fans and players alike at burnden, 3 times that ammount doesnt have the same affect/effect at the reebok.

Few of us wanted change and tried to replicate best we could. It didn't work.

if you want to stay with the scrotes under the scoreboard singing yer mums yer dad then fair do's no one is stopping you.

 

the NSL idea was to get the old skool back together singing proper songs and creating something like a decent atmosphere.

dont worry homer shewan has made 5 posts in 2 years, might be a while before we hear from him again, hopefully when he makes his next post in 2010 it might be a positive one.

I would rather stick hot pokers in my eyes than sit with the chavs in the ESL 'singing' corner.

 

The NSL is the first opportunity since The Reebok opened for mates, family and friends of friends to leave the comfort of their regular seat in all corners of the ground and sit / stand together tonight for a reet good sing-song, laugh and entertainment.

 

If it takes off on a permanent basis, I am not too sure but I am going to bloody enjoy tonight.

at burnden i seem to remeber that every stand had its carracters and made for a better attmospher. in the last ten years or so the burnden stand was the centre but hadt the lever end had its years and the same can be said for the embankment when the lads section was there. i personaly wouldnt remeber but my dad has fond memorys. my point is that just because the east stand has been the place for the first ten years at the bok maybe this is time to move sticks and start in a fresh area of the ground.

 

i hope the yoof stay under the screen and keep up what there doing there. but this is a chance for the guys who are bored of sitting in silence to come togeather and have a stand that will have a buzz about it again

Because the NSL has been designated by the club as the singing stand, all fans of a singing mind should be trying to make this work.

Singing always works best when concentrated in an "end" for some reason. Bothering the other team's fans isn't the point of singing - DUCY?

You miss the point that most of those moving to the "singing" stand, are MOVING to the singing stand, so how the fcuk would you know? Also, while of course being a "new" Bolton fan myself, I am under the impression that those moving the the NSL are of a generally older age roup than the ESL chavs. Seeing as the ESL currently has WATWAOW, and "come on you whites" in their repetoire, I'll be glad of the extra variety this third song will bring us, and hopefully the older fans will bring back some of the long lost ditties and we may get four or even five different sing songs. That would be pleasant

You don't get it do you. The only ones who will move, will be the traveling rug and thermos brigade, who will join their bretheren (and me) in the West. Leaving the already half decent signing crew who will be joined by the new lot. Why would those who relocate to the NSL to sing, move to the west when all the non-singers move out?

As a NSL season ticket holder I'm looking forward to t'neet.

My experiences there so far have been of differing nature to say the least.

There are clumps of vocal SUPPORT dotted around. There are also the non descript doom mongers who do nothing but whinge if you stand to sing.

Hopefully with the dedicated stand they will now realise to join in or move elsewhere if they don't like.

 

This is a positive step forward... and potentially one that could turn the reebok into something special.

 

Lets hear a few different songs too... mabe a few of the old favourites..

It's about time we also had a decent song for Guthrie.

Aye, I think I'll probably stay in ESL as I like my seat's view (although I have to confess I have been known to stay underneath some games, purely to be sociable of course). But I am making the effort for this game.

And yes, I think O'Neill is a pixie who wants a good kicking but his idea to move the away fans at Villa is a jolly good one. We're far too accomodating at this club. Balls to the away fans I say.

Oh, and I've just had a thought. How about putting the drummers in the away section?

I'm giving this north stand lower thing a chance...i hope i am proved wrong!! however we are not in the top half of the table anymore and our average attendence is shite. I just reckon it takes good football and high table positions to generate the atmosphere we are truely capable of.
