doesn't sound too bad, i'd be up for trips to blackpool etc.

Feck it lets go down, and have a laugh around the championship next year.

Most of us will follow the wanderers regardless of where they are in the footballing ladder, so i try not to get to worried and stressed out by all the relegation malarky.

There's every chance Hull will get promoted to the prem!

We''ll probably end up with Jules Darby

He has got his 50m swimming badge after all!

he's a sh?t manager

At least away games in the Championship we would take a good following as we used to.

We would fill our allocation at most grounds.

Surely that's better than the embarrassment of 400 going to West Ham is it?

As for Browny, that is a good call.

I for one now have had enough of the inept Ginger McFarland and would love to see Phil Brown back as manager with Okocha on the coaching side.

And how many do you think will be travelling to places like Norwich, Southampton, Coventry, QPR, Plymouth, etc?

why would we?

local derbies maybe

it's not cheap in the championship

even in our last promotion season I can recall plenty of t?rd followings

if we only take 1500 to Sheff U in the Prem, why we would we take anymore in Div One?

many of the reasons why people don't go anymore are aparent in div one as well

Me and about 10 others definitely would.

if we take 400 to west ham why do you think we would take thousands to leyton orient ?

or milton keynes ?

For a team at the top of the league or fighting for the Pray offs - alot - just like we used to.

Carrow Road in First div champ season = Sell out.

QPR when we got beat 2 -0 and didn't have a shot on goal till 88 mins under Todd = At least 1500 there that day.

It's a fact that in between 1998 and 2001 when we went back up, we had the best away following in that league.

Cos it's a novelty - just like West Ham was when we first went up.

Not even scraped 400 on some of our recent visits - doubt there was 200 this year.

Orient we might take a lot to as it is fresh place for many people. QPR and Palace etc though I'm not sure many will be at. Unless we're doing well of course.

Come on get real.

We may be a poor team in this league but the gulf between the two divisions is massive and even crap like Watford last season are doing well this year.

I can't seriously believe you would think we would struggle in the Championship.

A few new grounds at least - lets play the glad game !!

Yes we wiped the floor with Watford last season didn't we? We can't even compete with Sunderland and Birmingham. Sheffield Utd were relegated on the last day of the season but they've struggled this season. Maybe you're the one who needs to 'get real'.

And how many of this years team will hang around next season then <_<

It's irrelevant whether or not we wiped the floor with Watford last season. We finished 7th they finished 20th.

Sunderland and Birmingham are probably on a par with us this season, but it's fair to say both got promoted with much weaker teams than they have now.

Sheff Utd have been disrupted this season by managerial changes - Warnock and Robson going. They seem to have found a level of consistency under Blackwell, but have had so much turmoil from May through to January that they never stood a chance of getting going.

Even under Megson (god forbid) we should compete at the top of the Championship. Player wise, Jussi will go to reduce the wage bill, Diouf will be sold to balance the books along with one or two others. But it will be nothing too drastic to make us a poor Championship team.

Are you mad?

The 500 for the 2-0 win at wolves when we still had a chance of automatic promotion springs to mind

I seem to remember our away support during that time to be pretty average at best

Cos it's a novelty - just like West Ham was when we first went up.

leyton orient aint a novelty it is a return to the bad old days.

we had good support untill we flirted with the premiership, in the next years we had thoughts that we were too big for the lower divisions asnd many fans stopped going.

going down will be shit, we will hardly fill half the ground, we will get beat by teams who in our arrogance we reagrd as 'little'. we will be a luaghing stock and rightly so,we will also continue to rest players for cup games, we have no right to be in the premiership.

our team, our board and our support do not justify us being there.

i will hate it if we go down, really hate it, but if i was a neutral looking at the bottom few, i would want bolton to go down along with newcastle.

if we do stay up we need to spend a lot of money, if we dont what is the point ?

the people on this site who used to talk about wanting life to be exciting rather than boring and getting results really need to hold their hands up and admit how wrong they were.

some of us have been saying for 18 monthsw that midfield is our weakness, but others have hounded nicky hunt out of the team a new right back was never going to be the solution.

as much as i want to stay up a change of league and focus on a promotion campain to one where we hope we can get to 40 points and see where we can get from there might be more fun than the league football we have to watch this season or the last two or that matter. eather way next season will be a new start with or without megson. if he is going to stay then he needs backing, if he is going then a new man needs bringing in as soon as possible so he can get things rite for the new era

And how many do you think will be travelling to places like Norwich, Southampton, Coventry, QPR, Plymouth, etc?

Ah, those were the days? Ipswich and Norwich, back to back aways!

Beltin` pre match drink in some tractor drivers pub, watching Beeny stood on a table conducting the BWFC choir!

Memories!

The few new grounds thing was a silver lining for me too, untill i checked the table - if Bristol City go up and Colchester go down then there will no new grounds for me, except coventrys new flat pack, but i still count Highfield Rd so f uck that.

Southampton always a good trip tho, usually a stop over for that one!

Even under Megson (god forbid) we should compete at the top of the Championship.

I had to read that twice. Even allowing for the "god forbid" it's a nonsense. Megson has already shown himself to be negativity personified, so there's no top-of-the-championship side there.

A decent manager could have got us just about safe this season, even with the current squad - they'd be fitter, better organised, and better motivated at least.

But wth a new manager in the Championship ? Who knows.

Utter crap.

One of the reasons Megson was brought in was for his track record in gaining promotion to the premiership.

When he was appointed, we were staring relegation in the face and the board decided to appoint not someone with a track record of Prem survival (jewell) but someone who had a record of getting teams up.

We knew his Prem record was laughable, but you can't deny his experience in getting teams up. Getting WBA up twice was no mean achievement.
