Eh?

Come on lads and lasses, we've been in far worse positions than this.

Yes, hopefully we'll 'weed out' so many that the crowds will dip below 5,000 again, like they did in 'the good old days'.

You have grossly exaggerated the noble man's point in a cheap mocking shot.

Do you honestly enjoy being sat near folk who don't know who plays for us, who gets out a packed lunch and who leaves early, not because they want another pint or to watch it underneth on the tele, but purely so they can get out of the car park on time.

I shan't miss them folk.

I couldn't care less. The more, the merrier.

Casual is the uniform at our place.

No Nike trainers though, strangely enough.

And I can confrim CWP looks lovely in his shirt/tie/formal pant combo! :good:

it doesn't bother me how many people go watching,if there were 5000 you could sit with your mates and help create a better atmosphere, having been there in the late 70's and onwards i honestly prefer those days, loyal fans both home and way,who will support the team through thick and thin,

i work with a couple of j.c.l.'s and find them rather annoying, never been to an away game and only remember the premier league match's.

I fear to think what atmosphere a 5,000 "crowd" would generate at The Reebok.

Rochdale 2 v Bolton 2. We had half the ground and were two-nil down before JT scored a couple. I just remember one bloke being so pissed off that he threw his SHOE at the Rochdale keeper when he tried to retrieve the ball from the Bolton supporters behind the goal! (Rochdale, like Hitler, only had one ball)

Keith Welch wasn't it? Got hells abuse.

We were on about that at work today.

A few us ran back in ground but the old bill threw us out.

My boss is a Stockport fan and his stories from Saturday's farce at Chester are superb.

Chester fans were moved twice to create more room for the Stockport fans, first from half of one side of the ground and then from behind the other end. So Stockport had 3 sides of the ground!

The ref had to hold up play for 5 minutes whilst the overspill of Stockport fans were walked around the pitch to the other end.

The half time was extended by 5 minutes whilst Chester tried to use big sponges to dry the pitch out...

...and then when the pitch was at its best the ref called it all off.

As no tickets had been given out when entering the ground, the Stockport chairman, directors and any other staff at the game had to take the names and addresses of their fans as they left the ground - so they can be given a free ticket for the rearranged match.

Now that is proper footy - bring it on.

"Playing off" to stay up at a sh@thole of a ground(York I think) everyone climbing on a corregated iron roof thing to sing. The pigs steaming into everyone on the terrace. Leeds coming into town which we thought we had "taken!" Fond memories......................my arse!

Eh?

I'll tell you where I was. I was living with my parents and I didn't have a mortgage, bills, a car and the cost of living to worry about. What I did have was a disposable income and time to burn watching the Wanderers and getting drunk.

For me them golden dark days of roaming around the country in the lower leagues were fantastic but they have gone and they will never return.

20 years ago on Friday since the Burnley game on Easter Monday, I can still see them coffee mugs flying in the air :-k

Remember it well. I think it was round three of the Burnley trilogy

It was a sunny day, only about 10 thou on and they put the Burnley right next to us in the paddock

The mug kept flying backwards and forwards, a Bolton fan caught it and send it back and it smashed in Burnley end. Thank fcuk for that I thought, at least I could watch the match instead of what was coming from the other side of the paddock. Then the half a mug came back over and slashed a lad who was stood 2 rows in front of me across the face. I thought fookin hell that could've been me. Blood was pouring down his face, his mates said go to St Johns Ambulance, he said fcuk it, held his face and climbed up onto the railings to Burnley fans and sang "Chin, Chinee, Chin, Chin, Chin... we hate the bastards in claret and blue"
