Our English Pride

"My ENGLISH Pride I will not hide.

My ENGLISH race I will not disgrace.

My ENGLISH blood flows hot and true.

My ENGLISH people I will stand by you

Through thick and thin till the day we die

Our ENGLISH pride stands so high."

My problem is that I am British, feel British, but with the devolution of Scotland, N Ireland and Wales, feel "forced" to be more English than British, which saddens me.

Socialist, divisive basturds.

Whilst I personally don't go in for all this jingoism, I'm not sure how relevant his birthplace is.

How's it relevant? - we're a mongrel nation, always have been and it iss apt that the patron saint of these lands isn't English.

He's right, we are a nation of all sorts of breeds.

I think the point of today should be it makes no difference how many generations we have of forefathers here, what's important is to be proud of what we and other people of this nation have done and are doing & what it stands for. If this day commemorates that, then I am proud to have a day to do that!
