May 28, 200818 yr Apparently we are after Emile Mpeza who is available on a free after leaving Manchester City. Not a bad player i don't think but does get injured quite a bit. Surely we should be going after someone better i.e. Gomis, Elmander etc.? http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Foo...nked-to-Mpenza/
May 28, 200818 yr I fancied us signing that Gomis when originally linked with him but he made his debut for France last night and scored twice a decent Euros and Mpenza is probably more realistic

But we would still need a good quality striker as well. Mpzenza could do a job, off the bench or starting when injuries and suspensions kick in. Edited May 28, 200818 yr by jimmyjoojar
May 28, 200818 yr I am waiting for Henri Camara to be linked, I can definitely see that happening. definately if bsa was in charge, wouldn't suprise me another free transfer. don't know what megson's scouting system is like, can only judge him of his signings so far.
May 28, 200818 yr Mpenza is a talented waste of space. He was slated in Belgium when he went off to Qatar when he was something like 26, hardly the end of your career if you have any ambition. I've seen the guy around Manchester and he's another blinged up billy big-time. If he's motivated then he could be class, but it'd be another gamble...

Mpenza had massive potential. Yes he's had injuries, but I can't believe his brother Mbo has seemingly had a better career thus far. Emile is far more talented.
May 28, 200818 yr Pace and power. Worth a punt for nothing. Being as our strikeforce at the moment effectively consists of one man (Davies), we're going to need a cheap but good and hopefully quick striker for the bench.
May 29, 200818 yr You are naming players from Championship Manager again, aren't you? Go on, admit it. nope he's naming other strikers we've been linked with in recent weeks. IMHO Mpenza will be a good back up striker always good for a few goals.

Aye - I've seen him too - his missus looked class though.
May 31, 200818 yr the Belgium striker looks to be on his way from the City of Manchester Stadium where he managed just two goals in 15 appearances last season but his agent says he is keen to stay in England and is in talks with a handful of clubs who want his services. I know it's radical, but shouldn't we try & sign a forward who scores goals.
