Beginning Of The End For Someone

Ok, Now Citeh have super powers...who will expect Champions League football sooner rather than later...

One of the big 4 or Citeh will be unhappy to finish 5th! Hughes, Benitez or Wenger could be out of a job come the end of the season

Deffo Liverpool to lose their place in the top 4 :yahoo:

Arsenal will be the one that fails in my opinion. Both Liverpool and Arsenal now need major investment in order to keep up, once one of those two doesn't make CL, they will be in deep financial poo, especially if it happens two years running.

People have spoken for years about football "imploding" - well it could be about to happen.

If City won't finish top 4, it's Tevez to West Ham all over again.

Have to agree, City are a badly run football club. Money doesn't necesarily buy success. The top 4 now are well drilled with solid bases and just because City are going to spend millions and millions doesn't mean they will finish top 4 without being stable at the top

Exactly. And Robinhos good, but he's not Jesus. He's not going to drag them into the top four on his todd. I don't even think City will finish above Villa.

They might get there eventually, but it won't be this season. And it won't be with Hughes in charge.

I don't think Liverpool have been backwards in coming forwards when it comes to spending money, it just happens Benitez seems overly fond on frittering it away on mediocrity.

Wenger, on the other hand, spends little and often, but almost always brings in quality players who quickly settle into the side.

I'd back the Gunners to finish clear of the Scousers most seasons.

Citeh fans have short memories, the last owner was going to invest millions and make them a top four club, and look what happened to him. Mark Hughes will f*ck off as soon as he realises he is no longer in charge, the new owners will dictate who they want to buy, big money signings mean nothing if they cannot play together as a team.

And it won't be with Hughes in charge.

Hughes will get to the end of this season and if City aren't in the top four, he'll be out.

The last owner isn't even in the same league as these guys, they have as close to "bottomless cash reserves" as you can get. Anybody who has ever been to the UAE will know these people don't fcuk about, they'll spend big until they get it right.

Thaksin was probably looking at City as an investment, these guys won't be, they're in it to buy success (in a similar way to Abramovich)

reckon wenger has a job for life at arsenal

benitez would more than likely walk citing the boards lack of investment in his plans to spunk money on as many players as he can a season

i don't think they'll see city as a threat just yet, once robinho get's injured it's back to darius vassell

Dont forget Benjami the one goal wonder !

There could be a mass clear out at City in the January window. Anyone we'd fancy?

Zabaleta - Richards - Dunne - Garrido

Looks pretty sweet to me

with Schmeichal,Ireland, Jo, Ball, Onouha, TBH, Glauber, Benjani, Bojinov (if he's ever fit), Caicedo, Castillo, Fernandes and Hamman all pushing for a first 11 spot!

Citeh clearout - i'd take.....

Ben-Haim, Ireland, Onuoha, Ched Evans

He's off in a couple of years to be "Director of Football" (or similar) at PSG-already been giving quiet advice

There will also be younger ones to pick off from their academy

can't be that quiet if you know about it

if money talks it will no doubt have a detrimental effect on the academy as not as many players will move through, something that has been a solid proccess for many years, especially recently

As a result i feel Bolton should start tapping up the senior Academy staff, Alex Gibson etc!

Also Citeh wont end up in the top four and the 'big' players will be using Citeh as a platform ala Tevez - thats just my opinion and also a hope!

hmm

in any event

if he does leave

he'll walk

will never be pushed

I don't think City will be good enough for top 4 this season,if they are Liverpool will be the ones to finish 5th.That Spaniard went to the same all out defence school as Megson.

agreed, they won't have the team good enough to finish top 4 this season

but i would put money on them winning the league and champs league within 5 yrs

i also think hughes will be the man to do it

all very depressing really

Yep, I can see that happening. But only on the proviso that they keep Hughes and let him manage the club, just giving him money.

If, on the other hand, they decide to get rid of Hughes, bring in their own manager, have a summer of wholesale changes, then get p1ssed off that the new man doesn't win the league after one year, and sack him for someone else, they'll remain in a state of perpetual mediocrity. Which would be funny. But not as funny as them signing Ronaldo from the filth, and watching him score against them, to stop them winning the league. That would be even funnier...
