Mpvs

Now I'm aware that most of you who have got kids are driving around in 4x4s but I'm thinking about buying an MPV and wondering what the best are second hand.

Also just a quick check on What Car shows that it seems to be cheaper buying both privately and from dealerships up north, by quite a bit in some cases. Anyone got any expereince in buying cars up and down the country?

That is a fine arrange of cupholders there but 7 seats is a bit much. Looking at 5 seaters really.

Just leave the back 2 down and hey presto, a boot the size of Cuba.

When I said 'a true 7 seater' I meant all seats can actually be used by grown up rather than restricting it to 1 adult, 3 dwarves, 2 kids, and a Little Whitt.

Not very PC?

Deff cheaper up north.

5 seats isn't really an MPV, is it.

Most large family cars will seat 5 comfortably.

To me, MPV means 6 or more seats.

Sod PC, just want value for money. maybe an estate is the way to go but then I always associate estates with social workers for some reason.

Anyway, anyone want to buy a L reg beaten up to fcuk Toyota Carolla with 203,000 miles on it? Lovely stereo though and 8 months tax and MOT. Pick up only....

Thought not.

1-5k citroen picasso / renault scenic, cheap, ugly but very good.

6-15k new shape zafira's are cracking cars. but more money

16k-? fcuk knows, you be mad to buy a new car in todays climate.

A very valid point there.

Could be a marketing slogan "Sh?t, yet Practical"

there should be:

cars (which seat from 2 to 5 people)

4x4 (if you can prove you will use that facility)

minibuses (for folk who's children/pets can't fit into a car)

vans (for delivery drivers)

coaches (for folk who's children/pets can't fit into a minibus)

Aye ,the "newer" shape after 2003 are very cheap these days(that automatic handbrake is a bit weird though), try and get the Diesel.

try and get the Diesel.

And run it on Veg Oil at 85p a litre.

nobody has ever put a bun in my oven and i have no need to move tools and materials about so I prefer lil' sports cars

toyota corrolla verso is the future.

I hired one of those recently and it was ok. 2 seats pop up out of the boot like a Zafira but seems a bit less claustrophobic in the back. Well the kids didn't vomit in it so it must be. Drove round the winding roads over Hartside in a Zafira once with kids in the back seats and the boot area looked like a minstrone factory.

I have a Vauxhall Zafia 2 litre DTi! Good drive and spacious! :good:

I was thinking of the 1.8 picasso, cheap as chips second hand and no matter how ugly is better looking than my current skip.

i'm not sure i can take your opinions on cars seriously

Avoid anything French or Italian unless you enjoy standing by the roadside next to it.

A Mazda 5 should do you.
