Should We Play For A Draw

Featured Replies

Anyone who doesn't think Arsenal are easy on the eye has no business purporting to like football.

they do play some fantastic football, it's the 'how it should be played' bollcoks that grates on me.

You play any sport to win and arsenal haven't won owt for a good while.

They're just as 1 dimensional as we are except their way is much easier on the eye.

For one reason and another, I've not seen Shittu play yet so I'm looking forward to it.

If we get 2-0, I reckon we should sit back and defend that.

When football was invented it was 2 villages knocking shite out of each other up and down a hill.

Therefore, t'is Bolton who play the 'traditional' game 'how it should be' :yahoo:

One dimensional, eh?

Crikey.

It is how football should be played, though.

If God had wanted us to play football in the clouds, he'd have put grass up there.

if god had wanted it to kept on the floor, there would be a rule of "no over head height"!

the aim of the game is to put the ball in net more time than the opposition, within the laws of the game, by any means possible.

i couldnt not give two fucks if every goals we scored came from jussi booting it to davies, who headed it into the net.

winning is what counts, nothing else.

You're right, obviously, but it would be a lot more enjoyable if we did it like Arsenal.

absolutley, but that aint gonna happen.

Oh.

Kick there Cockney Balls off. We're in a relegation battle. Lets play like it now (not wait till the last 4-5 games). Battle our way to 40 points then moan about our style of play.

Get stuck in "The Whites Are Stayin Up" n all that. =D>

do you honestly believe some of the stuff you write sometimes?

I accept your stance on the whole bwfc doings, I don't always agree with it, I think it's more often that not naive

but that statement

f**k me

I'd really appreciate an explanation

if their pretty passes trying to play it into the net don't work they're fooked.

same as if our hoofing into the box doesn't work we're fooked

just their version of failure is pretty to watch.

The difference is, if circumstances called for them to just punt it aimlessly forward, they could do it.

They don't like it up 'em!

Winger moaned before the Blackburn game about coming oop North and getting lumps kicked out of his pretty boys. I bet he p!ssed himself when he saw how Ince's lot played. Get 'em clattered in first half and then score in second to demoralise 'em. Then it's case of 'no man shall pass'. Easy really... :pardon:

they could but they don't.

just my opinion i hope you don't wish me dead? <_<

hmmm

that's not one dimensional though is it, or our interpretations are somewhat different

they have a multitude of outlets to get the ball into the box, almost every player knows where the other is at all times and can more than likely play a pass to them

that to me is far from one dimensional, they just don't seem to be able to find an out and out goalscorer

in fact, if anything, the fact that sometimes they are not as 1 dimensional as perhaps they need to be is their problem, they have that many options they don't know which to use

we also have differing opinions of failure

under wenger and his football, I'd say they've been rather successful

it's just the 3rd (or is it 4th) transition of his squad are not quite as prolific as the previous ones

that said, adebayor seems to be finding his feet

possibly one dimensional was the wrong type of phrase.

IMO they don't have a plan B and that's why the direct football of Chelski has been more succesful over recent years.

fair dos

what they don't have is a striker who just thinks "f?ck this, I'll just tw?t it"

they tried it once with jeffers

that'd put me off as well

Isn't this a bit like extolling the virtues of Lancashire Bitter because it gets you pissed and it's wet, when comparing it with a lovely pint of Bank Top.

Everyone knows Lancashire Bitter tastes of piss, and that the Bank Top is superior, but I suppose if you worked in the marketing department you'd have to come up with something....

Let's face it, we'd all rather support a side who entertained us, and I hope that GM is working towards providing a footballing side.

Not even going to read the thread. To sit back and play for a draw would be suicide, and we'll get d?cked 3/4/5 nil.

We need to get at them, get in their faces, take walcott out as early as possible so he wont want to run at our full backs.

Bolton have got a defensive mentality about them; a sit back, wait for them to attack and if they attack and score then so be it attitude. That isnt who Bolton are and what bolton are about.

Get into the southern tw?ts

It's the 'playing how football should be played' bit

Says who?

Biggest load of sh?t ever, football should be played to win, it's a competition not an exhibition

Correct, as pleasing on the eye as they may be, they've still won cock all for the last couple of years - so clearly they aren't playing it the "right way"

ill have a winning one first, if thats OK

After last Saturday when i did not fancy us getting owt,i think we will win.

I think we have to go for a win in all our home matches.

Lets get at them from the off, kick um around the pitch

a bit and they will fold,2-0 to the Superwhites. :yahoo:

(last season was a fluke)

Serious question

If the devil offered you the chance to stay in the Premiership for next 20 years but never finishing higher than midway, putting shite teams out in cups and if you got into Europe (by way of Fair Play league) you would sacrifice it for a relegation clash would you take it?

S'pose it depends what option B would be - or is there not an option B for us.

Just bored with Wanderers at moment - perhaps it's me
