What happened to freedom of speech?

Allow me to let you into a little secret. The only person with freedom of speech on this board is Happy Wanderer. He's the administrator.

If you want a BWFC forum where you get freedom of speech, f?ck off and get your own. You could call it www.megsonoutjustforbeingagingerw?nker.com In fact, I know where there's a flag you could unstitch and write on in felt pen.

Whilst I expected nothing today and don't think we played badly I'm struggling to see just what system we are supposed to be playing. I actually feel sorry for Elmander, no service and all over the place. At the risk of upsetting some and I'm a big fan of his, Nolan was poor (Taylor was the only other one I could fault). But it can't have helped Nolan that he was shifted around to cope with the change at half time. Which brings me back to the 'master-plan'? What is Megson's grand plan? Maybe we will see developments in January.

Liverpool won 1 of the 6 league games at Bolton while Allardyce was managing.

Liverpool have won 2 of the 2 league games at Bolton while Megson has been managing.

Perhaps the difference was that Allardyce tried to beat them whereas Megson is happy to try and stop them scoring?

Thing is though, Allardyce still owes me my ticket money for the day I went to OT in hope of seeing us have a go. I think all managers are guilty of this when they know they are playing a team with more skill.

your entitled to your opinion even though your wrong, we should have started with gardner with Elmander on the bench, elmander should have made way for Gardner not Muamba, Smolarek should have come on earlier, Nolan and Elmander should have been dragged off, in my opinion yet again Megson did nothing right.

no, the difference is that liverpool have been average for years, but now they are a very decent team.

Actually you can, but at least be around all the time to be negative. You'll find all of the people who were here congratulating the win last week are here now. Whereas you seem to only stick your head above the parapet when we lose!

in your opinion.

I will give you the opportunity to explain Megson's decisions for his team selection and the dropping of Gardner, please enlighten me as to why the decisions he made were correct, I am all ears.

I didn't think I was being negative. I said we didn't play badly but I have my reservations about Megson. Just my opinion like. I try and not get personal on here, leave that to others, but I can see why those who are CONSTANTLY negative get stick. I am not constantly negative. I think Megson did well to keep us up last season and has brought some very good players into the club it's the tactical side that worries me.

gardner would not fit in the team today because:

a) taylor is our most dangerous player from set pieces.

B) Elmander has to be given time.

c) davies is undropppable

d) nolan is captain

e) muamba was man marking gerrard

f) mccann is our most solid player

and as much as people want us to go and win every game, 1st job was to stop liverpool.

only bit id disagree with is the shit at the start bit

we had our moments, they had more

shame we sacrificed muamba to do the job on gerrard, but the supposedly world class player was kept very quiet, as muamba did it very well

Agree! both he and gardner have shown enough in the last 3 games to suggest they should be both in the starting line up.

Thing is though, Allardyce still owes me my ticket money for the day I went to OT in hope of seeing us have a go. I think all managers are guilty of this when they know they are playing a team with more skill.

i was quite happy in the 2 games in a row we won at OT, at the time he could have had the services of mrs big girl for free! As could the great FW for his winner in the 70's. Class, skill and long hair!!!! :yahoo:

I don't know if you are second guessing Megson or agreeing with his selection. Because most of those reasons are flimsy. And you gave six reasons and the only positive one was our set piece specialist.

Reason E is actually the one. Megson said so himself. I have two thoughts on this.

1) It's negative, as per usual.

2) It didn't work. It left us toothless. He changed it and we played better so that's proof enough for me.

Bad selection, bad tactics, in my opinion.

You talk shite, people pick you up on it = freedom of speech

A)taylor has played on he right and done o.k. before.

B) all for giving him time but he is not a wide midfielder and should never have started there, Megson is making a place for him because he cost 8 million, that is bad management.

C) I like Nolan and although he is capatin he was awful today as he has been for years when we play liverpool, his performance deserved dragging off, the reason Megson dod not do this is because Nolan leads the team and is part of the established clique, again bad and weak management from Megson.

D)The hardest job today was marking Gerrard, Muamba did not do that bad, muamba should not of been sacrificed should have been Elmander, again bad management.

E)Mcann is doing O.K. and should be in the 11.

I don't proclaim to be a footballing genius, but have watched football for 35 years and played saturday and sunday at amateur level and seen good managers and bad uns come and go, Megson is well down there with the bad uns.

Megson dropped a bollock today, and no one will persuade me otherwise. To be dropping one of our top performers so far this season was a strange and bad decision in my opinion.

I'm not a moaner or anti-Megson etc. but when I got to the ground and heard Gardner had been dropped I couldn't believe it.

If we want to stop Gerrard fine, play 4-5-1, but what did we achieve by sticking a striker that looks low on confidence out on the left wing? I think Elmander will probably come good in the end, but that today was madness, and did nothing for him in the first half.

Fair play though, we made the change at half time and looked a lot better for it, and there were definitely things from the second half to build on.

I don't understand how people can knock Megson today. OK we lost but for me today was one of our better displays this season. I too was disappointed when I heard the team that Gardner was not playing. The thing is we were not out played in the first half. At half time, Megson saw this and put Gardner on to give us more width and speed on the left and it nearly came off. Perhaps Gardner was a bit naive in not going to ground after beating Reina and claiming a penalty.

I don't understand how people can knock Megson today.

People have made up their minds, any possible stick with which to beat Megson will be grasped, no matter how slender
