still get the odd numpty blaming the weather/quality of the tea/lottery numbers on megson in the North west corner.

Most seem to be won round though to a certain extent

I think he is doing as well as any other manager would at our club with the recources he has. I know he has had more money than any other bolton manager but its still not mega bucks.

Come on you whites !!! :yahoo:

Nice to have you back Zozzy, not been one Bolton game this season, just been watching tinpot football, enjoyed the game today, taking the piss out of the barcodes in Cumbria.

Seconded - welcome back Zozzy mate. Not much happened whilst you've been away. Success on the pitch has meant the doom mongers on here have been a bit of a flop; Devons had a funny turn and TonyCee has yet to throw himself into the river :D

Now then Leigh, this tinpot football you are on about. I am becoming more and more a fan of the Blue Square Premier on Setanta. A very refreshing change from overpaid prima donnas with Ferraris. Fascinated by that Weymouth story last week where they had a home game coming up against Rushden & Diamonds and news leaked out to some 'smarties' that they would be playing their entire U18 team due to financial difficulties. Bookmakers smelled a rat when there was an avalanche of bets on R&D to win plus folk wanting to back 0-4; 0-5; 0-6 and 0-7 results! Laughed when they interviewed a bookmaker and he said 'I had a hunch that something was up when, in a week where Real Madrid played Manchester United, the biggest exposure we had was on Weymouth v Rushden & Diamonds'.

I don't know why but this kind of stuff restores my faith in England and the English.

Oh yes, Bolty. Plenty money was made on that game at 6/4!

I have come on WWays tonight because I am too pissed to play poker :drinks:

won ?300 at NLHE tonight, and now have a fortnight off to bask in the fact we might not get relegated, after ragging 3 points against the minstrels.......

Is Megson the man to keep us up = yes

Is Megson the man to avoid relegation for the foreseeable future = yes

Is Megson the man to take us further = no

Will the boo boys ever stop slating him and get behind the team = *cough splutter.......

What do you mean by "take us further"?

A top 7 finish isn't totally beyond the realms of possibility this season.

So, would a top 7 finish in his first full season not represent as good an achievement, if not better, as Allardyce taking us to 8th in his 5th full season?

Can anyone be arsed comparing where we are points wise now compared to same time last season ?

Be interesting to know if any other club has improved as much in last 12 months....

i know none of this is down to megson...still....

My owd fella attended the match v Newcastle, he has alzeimers and it was his first one since 1968, he loved it he thinks :good:

How the shitting hell did Fulham stay up?

As regards Waddy's next level, the last time we were at that level i.e. Lisbon away, you spent all day moaning about Gartside :nea:

It's fair to say that Birmingham imploded!

Deja vu this season then, spineless coin-chucking Brummie twats.

I sit in the West stand so I'm always behind Megson. :yahoo:

Did I ? I can barely remember anything of the whole blurred episode, tho I do have a vague recolection of bending your ear about something or other......verbal diahorrea, brought on by supebok and too much talcum powder.

Apologies.

I would agree IF we finish in the top 7....or even top 10.......

By take us further, I mean not constant relegation fodder, which is how I see us at the moment.

aye but most teams tend to have a spell around the bottom 3 at some point in the season

pretty much everyone from west ham down have slipped in there

so

you could say, by not being relegation fodder with 11 games to go, we have been taken further (ok the season is not over yet but you see what I mean)

we were only relegation fodder last season

and in big sam's first two seasons in the prem

i don't think that is constant

I get what you are saying but in those first 2 seasons under Allardyce everything was still new and exciting and still novel.

I still think we are relegation fodder this season, (although I do think we will stay up , we will be down there with the rest) I worry about how things could change to make us better in the next few seasons and that is where I think Megson will struggles and is not the man to lead us to mid-table security or beyond.
