Saw McGuiness give a long interview yesterday on the box. Not a fan of his politics, but he did come out and condemn it straight away and gave quite an articulate interview.

Was watching our Martins interview myself and thought Kettle calling the Pot Black! Though fair doos he did condemn it,now he should get onto his RIRA contacts and give the Security Forces the names of the Scumbags who did it!

The DUP,SDLP,UUP,British,Irish and American Goverments all came out within a hour of this sickening cowardly terrerist attack taking place, Sinn Fein / IRA decided to make a token statement on Sunday lunch time.

Did anyone see that former hunger striker being interviewed? He looked to me like he'd made a full recovery.

in view of comments on here that no sports teams should now visit pakistan, are we now to use the same logic and not expect the west indies or aussies to tour here this summer?

I was a little worried it only made about p20 of the NOTW yesterday. However, The Sun made it front page this morning.

 

Can't help but think, had it been some Islamic Fundamentalists popping a few of our Forces outside a barracks - then there'd be a massive massive outcry about this.

 

Hope they make a real effort to hunt these bastards down and slaughter them in cold blood.

Suffice to say that if they were obliterated in the most ruthless and painful way, I would be very satisfied. Might end up being done by some who used to 'fight' shoulder to shoulder with them, especially if those republicans gaining more and more power see the CIRA or RIRA as the main threat to their hold on it.

 

Horrible b'astards and the thought of some (and I stress the word 'some') filthy fcuker celebrating these deaths under the Irish tricolour on the British mainland really does sicken me. Yes, the same dregs who turned their backs on the Remembrance Day service. Human filth.

Combating violence with violence doesn't seem to work anyway.

I'm with Maggie too. All I can see from any fighting fire with fire "oneupmanship" is the whole place decending into the chaos folk our age grew up in.

So if it carrys on, and more soldiers, policemen or civilians are killed how long do you want the people of Northern Ireland and the relatives of the dead to carry on turning the other cheek?

 

Is it 3 lives?, 10? 100?

 

These people will not stop until they get a united Ireland. That is their agenda. Are you advocating that to stop it you give them what they want?

There is a quantum leap from ignoring them to all out civil war in Ulster. As much as this filth need torturing, opening up old wounds is not the answer.

 

There will be a majority of people sitting on the fence hoping peace remains, but a good lump of them will also be waiting to jump off and wade in if it gets tit for tat.

 

For the sake of a place that I found to be suprisingly wonderful, a place that hand on heart I could say 'I'd live here', somehow thats what we need to avoid.

Interesting viewpoints on a centuries old problem. I can see merit in all of them and there has to be an end to it somewhere.

 

I sincerely believe that the problem will be solved within 'republican circles' as the people that these attacks were designed to undermine (i. e. Adams and McGuinness) will instigate the necessary steps to remove the threat.

 

We probably won't even hear of it. The problem will just go away and fish will probably be well fed for a few days just off the Giants Causeway.
