4-2 defeat at home to bury

twere good

For 3 quaters of a game Gretna were better than us! Remember being 3 up at Watford and losing 4=3 if memorary serves me well.

Oh, another happy evening on Wanderersways.

Take your shoes off, lie back and chill out.

Get some of this cider down your neck.

I stand corrected then.

We are Fcuking World Beaters Now.

You've been round the block pal. You know it was shit today, but it has been much worse.

I also know it has been much better.

Let it go.

no one said we are, no one has said we were anything other than shit today.

Strewth, I was there that day. :pardon:

Just to add insult to injury I think you still had to traipse through all them allotments to get to the fookin away end then.

Just checked - 23/10/93 it was, so I must have travelled from Southampton for it.

Kin'ell - 15 and a half year ago

awful performance

8 highly paid players let us down today - ill exclude cahill, young davies and jussi until i know what went on with calamity for goal number 1

not megson - cue the 'lost the dressing room, can't motivate' clich???

theres some players probably not good enough, and hopefully they'll be out in the summer

fulham play pretty, pretty football - as good as any in the top 6 or 8 - but wouldn't have scored but for schoolboy shite from two very experienced players

Pointless posting as that sums it up perfectly for me. We must have the biggest bunch of fickle fans anywhere. Gods when we win and utter dogshit when we lose. Yes, it was depressingly shiyte and I generally agree that we have some players who need to be moved on.

Those of us with longer memories have seen far worse when we have been in a much more dire position than we are now.

Consign this game to history - onwards and upwards.

McAteer, Lee and Thommo scored, blimey the game against Gretna wasnt long after, but we did have the Brescia game in between

To be perfectly honest Bolty mate I'm not sure I've been at very many more, in all me time, that delivered so little compared to the standard expected. The latter is the key point - it's the Premier League, the self styled greatest in the world. But the vast majority of the game was feeble wank, from both sides. Of course all the players on the pitch were vastly more talented than most we ever witnessed back in the dark days of the plummet to the 4th. But the extent to which it really manifested itself today was bloody limited, to say the least. And in terms of enjoyment it was down there with the worst.

And before anyone starts up - yes I know we are in the top division, I know we have been a hell of a lot lower, I know we can look at Soton, Charlton, Bradford etc etc and say "there but for the grace of God".

But the fact is today was shite; insipid shite.

I don't post often, but FWIW our midfield were shocking, again, one of the centre halfs was found wanting frequently. The full back on the right was poor and the atmosphere at the ground was non existant. I don'tl balme Megson for any of these points, although plentty do. These are the same pricks who shouted "Allardyce Out" very time the opostion scored.

We are playing in a very competative (sub) division and have a great chance of playing in the same division next season. This will be assisted by folk shutting up fcuking moaning and grting behind our team, two more wins will make it safe so get behind the lads and the manager and make bwfc what it was and should be again.

You'll get some ribbing for typing in Martian mate but, you should post more often. We need more like you :good:

Satan, I get your point - that was fcuking dire. I can, however, remember losing to some real showers of shiyte in the lower reaches of the old third division and, as divison four loomed, I remember thinking 'how has it come to this?'

We are a long way from that point - as pad posted, we are in position ro secure another season in the worlds best league.

The fickle nature can be illuminated in reverse for me.

Many were ready to boo them off at half time after an awful first half but Davies's goal in injury time turned the boos into cheers!!!

Can't be arsed reading the previous 3 pages but the worse home Premiership game will always be the Christmas humiliation to Coventry for me.

I have stuck with Megson and I still think the long term will be bright under him but to repeat myself, we need to get through the short term and I am beginning to fear he will not make it. To have a virtually fully fit squad but have nothing on the bench to bring on to turn the game in the last quarter was disappointing and a worry. He threatened changes after Stoke but despite the poor performers that night of AOB, McCann, Samuels, Steinsson all started today.

A fixture list that gave ample opportunties to push for a top 10 finish now looks littered with relegation 6 pointers. This is NOT being fickle - this is what the players last two performances have done for Megson and the club. They can't say it is a surprise because the wins at home to West Ham and Newcastle had a lucky element to them. I fear now that we have used our luck up for the season.

The players need to get their fingers out and Megson needs to earn his money.

Oh don't get me wrong - in real terms we are light years away from where we plummeted to.

BUT the problem is with saying its "the worlds best league". Yes, the best teams in it might be able to shit on everyone else in Europe. But the fact is that the rest are shite; or maybe more to the point, the games involving the rest are shite. Not "shite" as in having inherantly untalented players such as the dross we had to put up with many moons ago, but "shite" as in serving up uninspired, insipid dross. I can honestly say that taken as a whole, today's game was as uninspiring and unentertaining as owt I've seen from Bolton in 30+ years. Now, had we nicked it 1-0 would I have put that behind me?

Aye.

But we didn't.

Apologies to Bolty for the spoling mistooks, I've had a bit of calming down juice, which took its' toll n the spelling. We were beaten by a better team today, move on, learn the lessons and win the next one.

I agree with much of that - this whole season has been dire and not just BWFC. Been going this way for a long time.

The fact remains, however, that the 'best league' tag must remain. Worldwide viewing figures. Folk voting with their remotes.

Personally, I am enjoying the Blue Square Premier on Setanta to a much greater degree. Proper people playing proper football in front of proper fans.

Burton going up - just 20 miles away from me by bus and with multiple breweries :drinks:

Bolton/Burton that'll do for me - just like old times.

Bury v Rochdale last Saturday was a real football day out.

Real heated local derby, triple the normal Gigg crowd.

Shite football like, but hey being a Bolton fan I was used to that!

Gartsides spin doctors??? NO, just run of the mill Bolton fans, always have been, always will be, 40 years+ and counting.

Question with a simple YES or No Answer, "Where you there today?"

Bolton 1-5 Coventry.

Sellars put us one up then we just gave up.

Yep, I walked out that day and didn't go back for 9 years and I've got the same feeling now.
