well maybe thats where football has a problem cause it aint enough for me and I suspect, lots of fans of "also ran" football clubs, dont get me wrong i am not expecting us to win a trophy any time soon but i really would just like us to show a little interest in the cups now and again.

Agree with most of that & its very childish to tell other fans who have legitimate reservations about the management of BWFC to feck off to OT.

 

I think some objectivity needs to be inserted into the analysis of what went wrong on saturday.

 

First thing to state is that every team has a ramk bad day at least once a season , & we had one on Saturday three clangers in one game takes some beating

 

I think Sunderland had a similar bad one ironically against us earlier in the season.

 

Megson cant be blamed for individual player error, although he would certainly have hauled O'brien off at half time if he had enough confidence in the French guy or Danny Shittu

 

which cllearly he hasnt . So we have two alternative centre-backs whom he has signed that he feels he cannot play ??

 

I agree that we have been far from convincing even when we have managed to win games , Portsmouth game was lthe last time we looked in control & playing well.

 

I also feel that the managers substiitutions on saturday were too negative , taking JLS off & slotting Gardner back to bring on Riga was a neutral change

 

Bringing Muamba on for the injured Davies was a travesty with the team losing , as well as having no forward gear Muamba is clearly lacking in cofidence .

 

So as far as I can see the players performed badly on Saturday & must shoulder the blame & the manager did not make the most of his options on the bench so he had a bad day as well

 

As regards entertainment ...........well forget that , sometimes I speculate what would be better carrying on like we are , pretty poor team in the 'best league in the world' or gettiing

 

relegated , jettisoning the management & maybe getting back to basics & at least trying to play some decent football as we used to do under Rioch & to some extent Todd

 

. the reality is relegation means 10-13 thousand gates ,financial meltdown , & no guarantees that we would bring in the right manager to improve our play.

 

So its the devil you know for now , & we are all in this together so lets get geared up for a battle , appreciate each others differing points of view and support our team to the fecking hilt

This kind of malaise is exactly why we are so poor. Do you think the Belgians, Dutch and Poles thought the same, "Oh well, Germany's bigger than us so we really should know our place!" Did they feck, they may not have been able to prevent the inevitable but they still had some resistance and could still become a complete nuisance, that's what we used to be, smaller yes, but a complete pain in the arse for bigger teams. To keep this analogy going we are now like Vichy France full of sympathisers and collaboraters who are to scared to rock the boat, burying their heads in the sand and hoping everything will turn out OK!!

 

If sport was determined on who is biggest (if you can define it?) then why not just have a 2 day conference in August then publish the league tables for that season, because the competition of a league is obviously not important to most people!!!

 

We don't want to become the next Leeds, Charlton etc etc etc people keep stating, well the way we are going we are just going the long way around to the same place. We may stay up this year & next but its like a death by a thousand cuts, unless something changes at the club we will eventually go down. In the interim will people be happy that we have played such dire football, get knocked out of cups at the first opportunity and generally have very little to define each season by, being led by a man who is the antithesis of charisma and leadership.

 

Surely because we are a smaller team that is exactly why we should be making a fist of it, competing and enjoying ourself because nothing lasts forever.

 

We may not be able to attract the top players but that does not excuse the woefiul effort put in by most of our players week after week, and responsibility for that lands squarely at Megson's feet. And furthermore having such a weak squad and subs bench after 18 months of being in charge is just embarrasing.

 

What really saddens me is my son is just about old enough to start coming to the match, but I really struggle to see what he or me for that matter will get from the experience of watching my beloved team in the 'Greatest League in the World'.

The Premiership is the only place to be as money talks.

 

What pisses me off though, is that outside the top 6 or 7 clubs the rest just serve up shite football. Fair enough against the top clubs its backs-to-the-wall and scrap for what you can get but apart from West Ham (who we somehow beat), I haven't seen any club outside of the top 5 look any better than us this season.

 

The whole standard of The Premiership outside the top few is poor and getting worse.

 

Not sure what can be done about it but after 8+ seasons of watching it, is it too much to ask for the odd game here and there to be going home talking about how good it was and its great entertainment?

actually danny if you read osme of the posts on here, people are pointing out that we are nt the only team desperate to survive and hence playing ugly football. so why is megson villified whereas other clubs it is accepted ?

Saturday was crap, very very crap.

 

the shite served up is no worse than at 10-15 other prem grounds at the moment. thats the beast that is football at the moment.

 

Villa Vs Spurs yesterday was proper entertaing football as a neutral with Villa piling wave after wave of attack at the Spurs goal but it got villa fook all points.
