How It Is

We've lost 2 games. Not 10, not 20, not even 3.

I shall return to my standard line and say that the current manager deserves 10 games (although 6 straight defeats won't help). He's earned that right and even if you can't back him as a punter in the stands you should at least make the players feel like they want to be there, because right now I'll bet most of them don't like the atmosphere.

Yes, we all know a striker and creative midfielder is required. So do the management team but such commodities come at a very high price and they've made 1 mistake with Elmander and don't want a repeat.

However, as I see it, there is never ANY excuse for booing your own team/manager after 2 games. It's childish at best.

If the people who say things like "ruining the club I love" actually do love it, then you ought to be willing to at least show this on matchday.

To be fair, we have lost 5 of our last 10 competitive games. 4 draws and one win.

No win since 4th April.

Problem is, last twenty odd games have been relegation stuff and we aren't even scraping draws now. We got 4 points from those 2 games last season.

Did you see his post match interview yesterday, his body language spoke volumes. If you gave him the 1970 Brazilian world cup squad he would not be able to instill any confidence in them, let alone this wretched team that he has developed.

Then again, if you look at the last 13 Prem games, its :-

1 win

11 goals

How do you fit in posting on here in between licking windows? JAL

Apologies from Burden Aces nothing to do with us.

We have made a statement on our site condemning the incident.

you can't compare results across 2 different seasons.

most of those loses came when our season was trickling to a stop. we were virtually safe for ages and Megson admitted that the players let their games drop after we reached that point.

That said if we were practically safe why he didn't give a chance to Riga etc to prove that they deserve a spot in the team is as big a mystery to me as it is to most.

Sorry, frank. But at ?0.5m per finishing position and needing to sort out the wheat from the chaff for the next season, that can only be a partial reason at best.

As you say, why not give other players a chance to prove themselves or not and experiment with Plan-B and Plan-C (or even an alternative Plan-A).

The way we've picked up from last season, there's every reason to connect the two seasons together. The results aren't coming, Plan-A looks dubious at best, we're not getting the best from the players we have, goalscoring is painfully difficult, team selection is still odd, substitutions still weird ...... hard to see a difference yet.

I'm waiting to see what team is named for Tuesday.

I don't think the team is wretched, not the personnel in it anyway, I think we have a squad of players who are capable of holding their own and with just a couple of additions could be challenging for the top half of the table. Team selection, tactics and motivation are a different thing however. Lets see where we are after ten games though before we get carried away on a sea of negativity.

i think the team we have is capable of a lot more but dont think the manager is. to the people who support megson well fair play to you but i have to say you got a lot more patience than me. What i would like to know though is if we give megson another season or even only another ten games what do you think he is capable of at best ? i dont think we could do any worse if we make the changes now

remember what happend at charlton

The problem with changing managers frequently is every new guy seems to want to build his own team, not as much of a problem for teams like Spurs and any other team with a sugar daddy but a major obstacle for a club with our resources.

I don't like Megsons negative tactics, team selection or the way he's prioritised his signings so far this window (hopefully theres still time to make amends on that one). But in answer to your question I think he's capable of keeping us up again this season playing mind numbingly dull football.

On a specific date? Or more generally?

I think he meant the fall from grace after Curbishly left.

I think he meant the fall from grace after Curbishly left.

You'd think so, but this is Horwich's warped train of thought we're trying to assimilate.

I think he meant the fall from grace after Curbishly left.

That would be more relevant when Allardyce left, big presence, been at the club years, ran it from top to bottom etc

two words though :-

Alan Pardew

Is this turning into a thread of folk that'd make Megson seem like the Messiah?

Ah right, so everyone else can when it suits?

Megson, ffs, is comparing the open season form of other teams as a scapegoat for his inadequacies.

Many slated Allardyces tenure to justify Sammy Lee's shite show.

If we had won the last 10 games, and now lost 2, people would be using that as an argument. We should decide then, how relevant previous seasons are to this campaign.

If indeed that is true that "Megson admitted that the players let their games drop after we reached that point.", I find that ridiculous. If Megson's man management skills are really that bad that he can't keep a team motivated through to the season end, then he is worse than I thought. It also reflects VERY poorly on the Bolton Wanderer's squad as a whole, imo.

FWIW, I only mentioned the past form as a counterbalance, I think Megson should have a few decent games to prove himself. But personally, I can't see many of the foreseeable results gettin' nicked by us. 10 is too many for a team in freefall.

Someone on this site posted a few days ago that we were "f*cked 6 months before Sam Allardyce left" to attempt to justify Megson's failure to solve the team's problems in his 4 transfer windows. We were 3rd in the table 6 months before Allardyce left.

If we were f*cked then i don't know what we are now...

I'm starting to lose the faith in Megson. I've been prepared to accept him as manager, take the positives from the player improvements he's bringing in and almost accept the current poor offerings for what the long term could hold BUT there is only so much we can take.

His body language was dreadful on Saturday, even worse than normal. Yes, we could and should have been 1 or 2 up at half time but when Hull got on top in the second half he was devoid of ideas of how to change it.

The end of September is the cut-off for me because there's fcuk all for us in October.

He's a very dull boy

We will have wasted 5 easy matches against Sunderland,Hull,Portsmouth,Stoke and Birmingham if Megson is given until the end of September.

That's a risky game for Eddie Davies to play with his money given the evidence so far this season in my opinion.

getting rid of him now could be a bad decision and morally a bad one, but were is the next win going to come from?

liverpool? doubt it

pompey away? it'll be our luck that they get a friggin win

stoke at home? i'd hope so but there a tough side to beat

in fact were are out goals going to come from?
