How Does 4 Mins Become 6?

Scum

Owen now a fully fledged one as well, hope he never plays for England again

didi hughes manage blackburn at rileygate...............

Arsed

sounds like a beltin game to be fair. will have a gander on MOTD 2

Just watched it. Disgraceful how the filth get all the breaks. Should have ended two minutes before Owen scored. Not displeased for the scorer like. Unlike many on here who seem to have gone soft on our eternal enemy, I hate then with a passion. No probs with City, Chelsea or even Liverpool when they are playing those scummy b?stards.

Fergie Time.

Shithouses.

Did you see him with the 4th official, laughing and joking in the 123rd minute.

Shithouses. Did I say that?

Well it keeps up my acca.

Did the ref not add on more time due to Bellamy making it 3-3?

The ref was clearly going to add on as much time as was needed for utd to win.

As I posted on the other thread that NBs posted in banter for some reason

Someone just called talksport and there was something about the 4 minutes not starting until the city players had stopped celebrating

here here - am worried that people are going soft on them.

I'm not angry about it, I'm in my mid thirties now and I've just come to accept the cheating that goes on

At points last season it was farcical, game after game, decision after decision, they were gifted the title IMO,

Disgusting, but unchangeable

Time added on because Bellamy scored plus about 30 seconds extra becuase Carrick came on .

It was a great match!

Hopefully Owen will do the same in the World Cup final !!! IMAGINE ATMOSPHERE

The reporters are numb as a pisstone.

I only listened to last five minutes, there were 4 mins of injury time, a goal was scored during this time and a sub was brought on, therefore a total elapsed time of 5m20secs doesn't seem too unreasonble to me???

None of the radio chaps seemed to be able to comporehend this!!

Why the fucking hell would you add 5 minute 20 of injury time for goals and subs?

You're not seeing the wood for the trees here

Also the whole idea of holding a board up is so that we don't have these situations, and everyone knows the crack

But what we've ended up with is we play the time on the board THEN we play the ref's own little totally arbitrary and unexplainable bit of time too

Hehe, do you live in a forest!! To correct you he added 1m 20s on when they scored (5m 20s - 4m)

What do you think the board is there for?? That IS the ref's arbitary time he adds on for each half, so if you can keep up with this so far, there may also be a little more time to be added onto this extra period, dependant on what happens i.e. injuries, goals substitutions...

They have to add 30 secs for every sub, and I assume they must have taken over 50 seconds to kick back off following Bellamy's goal, all after the board went up for 4 mins! So hardly a great conspiracy is it!!

Wrong - It's the minimum additional time, that the referee feels should be added for timewasting, injuries & substitutions. It therefore stands to reason that if a substitution is made within the additional time, more is going to be added. Furthermore, if he felt that Bellamy & co were spending too long enjoying their equaliser, scored with less than 10 seconds of normal time left, and after he had told the 4th official to stick up 4 minutes, he'd add some more on for that too.

The referee is the official timekeeper for the match, and may make an allowance for time lost through substitutions, injured players requiring attention, or other stoppages. This added time is commonly referred to as stoppage time or injury time, and is at the sole discretion of the referee. The referee alone signals the end of the match. In matches where a fourth official is appointed, toward the end of the half the referee signals how many minutes of stoppage time he intends to add. The fourth official then informs the players and spectators by holding up a board showing this number. The signalled stoppage time may be further extended by the referee.

read it again, properly. If you're still struggling get back to me and I'll help you out :good:

yesterday the board went up at our place

5 minutes

we played 5 minutes 15

jussi was down best part of 2 minutes

refs aren't cheats, theyre just shite

That's twice I find myself agreeing with you. & I'm not comfortable with it!

So you don't have a problem if the board says 4 minutes and a ref gives them quarter of an hour to score.

Match of the day 2 says

Owen goal 5m 27seconds

Added time 4 minutes + Bellamy goal and Carrick sub = 5m 26 seconds

1 second out , the ref isn't going to blow whilst Owen has the ball in the box. not in any game in any league.

Glad it showed that, as it would appear some WW posters are numerically illeterate!! although I do understand this condition is probably induced by the hatred for United.

Consistency is the main issue here. I'm not having that refs stick to those rules. I suppose it makes no difference because they won't get pulled up on it by the refs association so they essentially have a free reign to add whatever they want. people can claim it's for this and that but there's too many grey areas where refs have licence to add what they feel necessary. One refs views will differ from another. I hope ferguson defends the referee's actions so when united concede in injury time, and he's got his stopwatch out, we can shove those words back down his throat.
