banktop wanderer Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 for me this guy is as much to blame for appointing him in the first place, knew it would end in tears. and his recent ideas of the prem are utter dogshit, a 2 tier top league and the jocks join us aswell wtf for me this clown has to go aswell!!!!
Big E Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 No. He is the whole reason we got into Europe. I have no doubt many were calling for FSA to be sacked and were angry with Gartside when he didn't. I like gartside and think he is the right man for the job. Megson is on borrowed time.
Traf Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Gartside got lucky with the Allardyce appointment after presiding over the Todd fiasco. He then appointed both Lee and Megson. Megson's choice of players is actually better than the chairman's decision making process regarding managers.
Big E Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Couldn't you say the United board got lucky with the Ferguson appointment though? Surely you need a little bit of luck to be a success.

I have no doubt many were calling for FSA to be sacked and were angry with Gartside when he didn't. sorry pal thats utter bollox imo. some people were pissed off with some bad football but to say people were calling for bsa head is dog shit and imo it was more sam who got us in to europe not gartside, the useless tit wouldn't even give sam funds he craved but thats a different story
Casino Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 sorry pal thats utter bollox imo. some people were pissed off with some bad football but to say people were calling for bsa head is dog shit and imo it was more sam who got us in to europe not gartside, the useless tit wouldn't even give sam funds he craved but thats a different story you ever seen a money tree?
banktop wanderer Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 you ever seen a money tree? he found them for megson
beer_swiller Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Same people each week who shouted for Allardyces head are the same ones baying for Megsons. The difference between the two, Allardyce got better results. Same people not too far down the line will be the ones hurling abuse at the next manager, some fans are never satisfied. Gartside is a Bolton fan through and through who Ive always liked until he appointed Megson, Gartside will be the one who appoints our next manager should Megson leave, Im not happy about that.
no balls Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 the useless tit wouldn't even give sam funds he craved but thats a different story Do you know we had the funds at the time?
Big E Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 sorry pal thats utter bollox imo. some people were pissed off with some bad football but to say people were calling for bsa head is dog shit and imo it was more sam who got us in to europe not gartside, the useless tit wouldn't even give sam funds he craved but thats a different story when he first started i am sure people were calling for his head. i may be wrong though. if so fair enough. Sam had funds at Newcastle.....he does well with a budget? Did the players like hierro , djorkaeff play for free? i am sure they wouldn't have. in fact i reckon FSA had to offer massive contracts to attract these players. Or did they just love the thought of moving to bolton......Just because he didn't shell out massive transfer fees doesn't mean he did not have money
smithills_gent Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 No. He is the whole reason we got into Europe. I have no doubt many were calling for FSA to be sacked and were angry with Gartside when he didn't. I like gartside and think he is the right man for the job. Megson is on borrowed time. If Gartside was responsible for the good results when Allardyce was here how come the results are so crap now? Gartside is still here after all..
banktop wanderer Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Do you know we had the funds at the time? so your telling me we couldn't have borrowed them??? just like we have for megson??? like i said different story people were calling for big sams head just like they are with megsons  oh please stop it
no balls Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 so your telling me we couldn't have borrowed them??? just like we have for megson??? like i said different story Have we borrowed the money for Megson's transfers? Do you know where from, how much or that Sky revenue went up? If you don't have facts, please don't pretend you know.

Big E Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 so people were calling for his head in his first season??? dont talk shit man if you want ill remind you wot he did in his first season here Please do.
banktop wanderer Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Have we borrowed the money for Megson's transfers? Do you know where from, how much or that Sky revenue went up? If you don't have facts, please don't pretend you know. what and you know we financed them ourselves??? did we not increase our debt as a result of transfers as reveled the other week? maybe wrong would like to know tho please dont corroct someone if you aint got a clue yourself. xx
no balls Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 what and you know we financed them ourselves??? did we not increase our debt as a result of transfers as reveled the other week? maybe wrong would like to know tho please dont corroct someone if you aint got a clue yourself. xx That's exactly my point. I haven't got a clue and neither have you, so why do you state you know where the money came from? The increase in debt, has it come from the transfers? Do you know that? Gate receipts are down, Sky Money's up, wages, they might be down. You'll only get one kiss for that post! x

I asked a question and you have answered it. I still remember people calling for his head. that could have been after 1 poor result though with some of the halfwits that follow bolton. I still think the man who has been chairman during the clubs most successful time in history is doing a decent job though. we work within a budget that is not set by him. Do you know what he does for the club and for the FA. I don't. I would assume he works hard in all his jobs hence why he achieves his bonuses etc. As a general rule you don't get bonuses if your employer thinks you are doing shit.

But you said he was responsible for the team getting into Europe. Now you say you don't know what he actually does ::
Guest Frandsen08 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 who would come in for Gartside? promote from within or look elsewhere?
Big E Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 But you said he was responsible for the team getting into Europe. Now you say you don't know what he actually does :::: Which i believe. Did he not take a risk on FSA by giving him a 10 year contract? Thus standing by his manager? Not many other chairman would have taken such a risk
Gonk Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Gartside got lucky with the Allardyce appointment after presiding over the Todd fiasco. He then appointed both Lee and Megson. Megson's choice of players is actually better than the chairman's decision making process regarding managers. IIRC That was Hargreaves' last stand
Traf Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 In which case, can I amend it to being party to the Todd fiasco? PG was on the board at the time.

Gartside was asked by the premier league to look at the options to change the structure of the premier league. He did this, one of these suggestions was including the porridge wogs.
