Actually, to be fair, it's only Brian Woolnough who's making a twat of himself (who might just be being devils advocate).

Nothing too stoopid.

The usual neutral 'don't understand the sideways move', then admitting BW have the better facilities, higher budget, established Prem club ........ just the same as Burnley then, eh lads.

More puzzled by the timing. Erm ..... the BW job was available NOW.

Doh !

::lol::

anyone who believes burnley to bolton is a sideways step is on another fookin planet.

we are a 21st century club with facilities to match. fair enough we are a small club with limitations, but we ARE established. relegation is not an option.

burnley are still a lower league club, just playing football in the top flight for a season.

Compare & Contrast:

The Reebok v Turf Moor

Euxton training ground v Gawthorpe (not owned by Burnley FC)

Bolton's Academy v Gawthorpe (centre of excellence is at the training ground)

Club budgets

Length of time in PL

Quality of current players

Quality of player likely to be attracted in the future

It was a no-brainer for OC.

The plan was & I think still is, to bring it all back to Lostock. As for Euxton, I presumed it was owned by Lancashire Football Assocation for some reason, though I really haven't a clue.

Your right with the whole length of time in the prem - only 7 teams have been in the PL longer than us - Man utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Villa and Everton.

Established!

Impressive, but bollocks

14 teams have had longer in the Prem than us

Man utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Villa, Everton, Boro, Southampton, Newcastle, Leeds, City, West Ham and Blackburn

I think he meant teams that are still in the Prem and haven't been relegated and promoted in the time we've been there.

Exactly! They dont exactly seem to be inundated with top class managers wanting the job!!

what gets me is the assumption that our current crop of players are only capable of playing hoof ball,we have more decent footballers than most sides down the bottom ,they just need some confidence to get the ball down and play .also the journo from the telegraph who is an arsenal fan ,is the archetypal lazy twat who never gets up north to see for himself chong, cahill, klasnic and co.just relies on our long ball reputation.cant fookin stand him.
