Coyle Signings - Early Press Speculation

According to NOTW Coyle is interested in bringing Eagles and Mears from Burnley for a combined fee of ?4.5m. He is also intersted in hi-jacking the loan of jack Wilshire from Arsenal (coyle had planned to loan him when he was at burnley)

If any of those rumours are true then i would quite happily take eagles and wilshire as they will add some much needed craft into central midfield. However i wouldn't particularly want Tyrone Mears as he's no better than steinsson or ricketts (in fact probably worse)

Thoughts?

i dont believe anything NOTW writes , and this just seems like easy journalism, very predictable.

i'd take them both though, but definitely need a centre back

First priority. A half decent EXPERIENCED midfielder who can play 40 yards further up the field from what we have.

I can't see any Burnley players worth having in this transfer window.

And why on earth would we want a rookie Arsenal full back/midfielder for a relegation scrap?

ageed.. i cant see any Burnley players ousting any current Bolton players

Beckford could be a good buy though..

neither are an improvement on our current players.

not seen enough of wilshere really, so cant comment.

Aye, but it has to now be "In Coyle we trust."

If he does want 'em, of course.....

Wilshere is the kind of player who wouldn't have even got cold on the bench under Megson - if we get him, that would indicate a substantial change of playing style.

But as I said on another thread, I can't see out playing style changing too much until next season - we'll need a substantial change of personnel too.

a front six of

lee muamba basham taylor

klasnic and elmander

would hardly be sunday league cloggers

is he even good enough to start games in the premier?

looks similar to mark davies from what i have seen.

Looked tasty against the 'ammers in the cup and useful in the Champions League match the other week too.

Far better than Mark Davies, although to be fair, don't think Davies has had the chance to make his mark yet.

Hmm...that line-up would worry me to death if it turned out against the Arse. Lee and Muamba don't perform every game, Muamba's (in)ability to pass would be a worry, Taylor's pace another, as would Basham's relative inexperience and although a lot of people are talking up Elmander's chances with Coyle, that's just theory. I'd rather have Davies ahead of him right now - at least, until he's shown a bit as a sub.

Aye, about 5% completion for all of them.

i'd have to disagree, first priority IMO a centre half not necessarily from burnley.

& have u seen wilshire play?

YES to Eagles and Wilshire.

The kinda players Coyle likes and not the usual rubbish grafters Bolton go for.

like lee, klasnic and m davies you mean?

I really hope we don't sign Eagles & it's not for footballing reasons.

Partly.

Extreme grooming like this ruins all my hard work:

Is that a bit like saying Peter Sutcliffe's mental state compares well with the rest of the Broadmoor inmates? ::lol::

Beckford could be a good buy though..

According to my dirty Leeds mate he isn't Prem material (as yet, at least). Prone to going awol and a bit lazy.

M Davies is rubbish...

M Davies is rubbish...
