Red Wine

Right,

Some of you off here are more into the proper stuff than I ever will be but I found a couple of favorites that I like. Now then, I have taken the WW advice and bought myself a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape and it is indeed rather nice but can I say it is better than a decent bottle of Rioja at half the price? I have to say no. Therefore have I bought a dud one (like all varieties will have) or do I try another bottle of the same or different? :pardon:

Sancerre is supposed to be alright as i Gavi.....however when you can get 3 for a tenner, I;m not shelling out 12-15 quid a bottle.

Anyway tonights tipple............Strongbow and San Miguel with Mount Gay Rum chasers.

 Just had a vision of R walking intert man & Scythe and bellowing that at the top of his lungs.

Bolton Diver. I am not wrong. I am as equally as right as you. Yes, the Margaret River region is a magnet to wine buffs. Pretty part of the world too.

To those that like wine, enjoy it to the max. Just don't fcuking spout on at me about 'blackcurrant tones' and 'oak after palates'. I really don't give a fcuk.

:good:

Nw you have confused me BHW, I thought CdP was from one region? The one I have is 2007. See, I am not a wine expert by any stretch, I just like a good bottle when I divulge in a tipple...

cdp is indeed a geographical area rather than a particular wine variety, you can also get white cdp. there are hundreds of different varieties.

Not purely a Chardonnay Socialist then?

More like a Lidl Lefty.

i like a bottle of red or 2,my rule of thumb is - don't buy anything below 14%,and i rarely pay more than a fiver a bottle. It never fails for me. :good:

I always thought wine was a girls drink.

I used to think the same, but then again I used to enjoy 20 lagers, and a bucket of billy, a kebeb, and acting the cunt.

I can still sup a bathfull of Stella, but a good glass of wine - especially with a meal, is something I think you grow into.

You do surprise me Winchester White.Discussing having a maul with the next door neighbour indeed.

George, I seem to have upset you and for that I apologise. However that does not mean that I take anything back that I may of said that offended you, simply that I hope you can move on and accept that folk on a public forum can and will have a diffence of opinion to you; especially when it comes to the services of a back street prostitute...

As you get older you start to appreciate the finer things in life, that's why someone in their 30's+ will pay a bit more for decent beer, wine or grub than someone in their 20s would. While I will happily drink any old shite at a party, when I am at home watching a DVD I want something decent to drink; getting absolutely blotto in the space of 10 minutes isn't really on the agenda, getting nicely sozzled whilst enjoying it is. :D
