One thing about all the above is they only affect your own health. Smoking in public places can affect the health of bystanders who do not wish to breathe in the horrid smoke.

I have a lot of sympathy for smokers who are hard done by at football matches. They are denied a smoking area and are then treated like criminals.

There are fans who genuinely can't go to the Stadium because smoking areas are not provided. It is a basic need for these fans who have as much right to come and support the team as anyone else. It is a habit.

And before anyone brings up the arguement of other addictions, smokers have become this way 'legally' with the backing of government law.

 

Your second point could be contested in the High Courts which may find that this British law is in fact itself Illegal
