Big Sam,

Featured Replies

i expected them to sell more, but they have never had good travelling fans, i suspect the coaches will be leaving early so that will stop a few people with work and kids at school, and their one nil down against a superior villa side so they probably dont fancy their chances much and there was only 10,000 at the home leg.

i think most teams would of sold out their allocation though

I presume he thinks they're being ignorant & naive.

"It would have been Champions League as well, but they didn't want it, so I buggered off."

We'd have pictures of Big Sam on the walls but none of them are big enough for his head.

?At Bolton, we had pictures on the wall of European nights. We got there twice and they?d never been there before.

Not sure why he is even mentioning a potential final blackburn fans may have to moan about because its never going to happen in a million years , its a crime theyve got as far as they have.

He really does come across as a bitter cock, doesn't he?

Didn't want it or were cautious? I suppose that's a matter of opinion. I know one thing though, I've been made redundant in the last few weeks & have managed to move on to other things without feeling the need to bad mouth my previous employer in every conversation I have.

Who really gives a shit what fat sam has to say anymore?

He did brilliant for our club then fecked us off. He's history. Just ignore his bitter comments

Aye alright, we could got in the Champs. Ok Fat Sam, whatever you say...

What's all this "we (Bolton) got into europe twice" bollocks, he decided to fcuk off and have a 6 month break before the second time was confirmed

FFS move on Fatty and leave us out of it we have and hopefully onto bigger and better things

He hoped to go onto bigger things but is now worried that the highlight of his managerial career is going to be those two European qualifying seasons at Bolton.

He is desperate.

I think he makes fair comment.

There were plenty on here pissing and moaning because the Board wouldn't spend in the January when we were 3rd at Xmas, and it all went tits up from there.

football has moved on since the days Sam had success. Okochas and Djorkaeffs arent available anymore and he's now getting found out.

The Blackburn fans just don't BFS they never have and never will. The links with us sought to that.

Their fans are more fickle than ours and that's saying something. They have always thought they are a 'big club' with the success of Walker and his money. There is little money at the club now and they have to sell to bring in new blood but who would you buy from them? McCarthy has had his day and they want ?2M and that?s a joke.

We all know BFS and his ego trips but he?s right they are negative and possible the worst set of fans in the Premier League.

they are a 'big club' with the sucess of Walker and his money.

Allardyce on cup final tickets - ?They?ll sell out in a day, but we?ll look forward to the aggravation of everybody ringing up and us not having enough tickets to give to our fans.?

Look forward eh?

PS - The bloke mentions our club at every interview and always gets a little dig in, it's getting boring - move on you fat b@stard.

It pisses me off that this line is always used when arguing that Allardyce's best days are behind him. Yes he was innovatine in recruiting older, so-called mercurial talents and getting them to perform. Critics claim that other clubs can now do this therefore creating a more level playing field and blunting the edge that Allardyce had.

Total bollocks. Ok, partial bollocks. There is no way that his success was purely down to recruiting a handful of ageing foreign stars. How did we get to the Prem in the first place?

For me, I think a much bigger part was his use of the highly qualified backroom staff and trying to gain an extra percent performance anyway he could. It's no coincidence that the more scientific approach adopted by other clubs has meant that Allardyce is less effective than he was.

Or he could just be that his bitterness and not being lauded as the next Ferguson is clouding his ability to manage to his potential!!

"It would have been champs league but they did not want to do it", yet again Big Sam over inflated ego strikes, the fact was he is and was not good enough to deliver champs league football, and it wont be long before the dingles put an end to his managerial career.

"It would have been Champions League as well, but they didn't want it, so I buggered off."

I get the feeling that in 10 years he'll be holding court in some boozer, saying the same thing to anyone who'll listen.

I will always be grateful the the big lump for taking us as far as he did , & I think he is correct to have a moan about the board not backing him

signing a couple of players in that transfer window, that said he does lay it on a bit thick at times .

however if as someone says his best days are behind him I think that also applies to our football club , unless of course OC can work a miracle.

Even if OC doesn't take us to the same dizzy heights as Allardyce did, then someone else in the future could possibly even surpass Allardyce's achievements here.So to say our "best days are behind us" might be a bit premature.

Correct to have a moan? What in the context of an interview about the Carling Cup game of Villa v Blackburn? There was no need for it & makes he sound like a right tit.

I dont agree with such negativity, I think that Bolton fans are so so negative, what were the best time? I had great times in div 4,3,2,1 white hot years,Frankie notching 2 at OT, Robbie savage at Wrexham, European tours, on and on it goes, the whites will always make there mark whatever era or division they are. The future is bright the future is WHITE. :good:

I meant in the context of league position etc its not negativity its realism , we could get relegated this season & still have fantastic times ahead in the championship

or anywhere else for thatr matter the point is that in todays Premier league clubs like ours are limited ( no t least financially) as to what they can achieve.

Like the keyboard warriors who seem to write every Arsenal blog, Big Sam lives in some time tunnel that ends about 3 years ago.

Bolton this, Bolton that, Champions League, could have been England manager, not big time enough, Newcastle didn't give me a chance, I'm still the right man for England...blah blah...yawn yawn.

He had a really strong legacy that he's slowly, but surely pulling apart. Not belittling what he did, but Rioch and Todd did more to transform this club than Allardyce IMHO anyway.

Agree competely, it may take Coyle the rest of the season to asess what he's got, I doubt hes going to re-build and re-brand in one transfer window and needs to be given time.

His last 2 seasons he gave up at Xmas.

I can't forgive that.
