Lack of commonsense over this situation, Coyle should have been advised by Gartside that Barber was Jussi's coach and therefore Hughes services were not needed.

The burnley boards are loving this one. Just a simple fall out from what I can see. You can understand where Jussi is coming from with how long he's worked with Barber for.

Correct. It's not about being bigger than the club. It's about discussion between the relevant parties. Can't just go wading in waving a big stick.

Whist Fred has obviously done an exceptional job as GK coach i dont like the fact Jussi has spat his dummy out in this way. I am sure that adequate discussions took place over which backroom staff where to stay / go. Prehaps FB was an excellent GK coach but got himself bogged down in the whole GM thing and became part of the dead wood at the club. If its a choice between the old ragime or a new one minus FB i think we will be better off with the new one without doubt. Just a thought.

 

As for JJ spitting his dummy out, he is a legend and been one of the best in the prem but he needs to remember how much he gets paid by this club and the mess that we have been in before rocking the boat like this.

and a good manager understands that good relationships between staff often help produce better results.

 

Barber has been doing an excellent job, the people he was responsable for liked him i saw no reason to get rid.

If they want to keep their off field business relationship ongoing then fine there is always life after football.

 

However Jussis day job is playing for BWFC and its them that pay his wages and not Fred Barber. Coyle can't be seen as asking Jussi if he's ok with every decision he makes in case he's spits his dummy out as its undermines his position and authority and then paves the way for other players to start demanding what they want and all of a sudden Coyle is getting paid to do what?. Not doubting the excellent job Barber has obviously done as we have 3 very good goalkeepers but we now have 2 goalkeeping coaches on the pay roll, and Coyle has got to be focused with the job in hand and needs to be comfortable knowing his own men who he trusts will implement his ethics and ideas. Coyle does listen-he offered Chris Evans a job which someone must of had as word with him about? If I told my boss Id leave if I was unahppy at the treatment or decision effecting a work mate and want them re-instated then he'd see me out the door personally, Jussi is probably one of the top earners at the club and is set for life....he needs to pick up his lip and get on with it!

Seems to be very helpful on there to the up and coming keepers which is good though.

Fred barber turned Jussi from a nervous wreck into a quality keeper, hes been like a second father to him. He also helped find Al Habsi and Bogdan who are both good keepers. Weve had good quality keepers for a long time and a lot of its down to Fred Barber and thats why Jussi kicked off.
