Reet I have genuine reason to hate Man U, In 1973 I went to OT to watch Bolton, we got stuffed 3 - 0, I was grassed up in the Stretford End by someone I knew, and promptly battered by a group of scum bags. At the bus stop I was being questioned by some of the then notorious Tyldesley Reds, a lad I was at school with (Man U fan) dropped a scarf and motioned to me to pick it up and pretend I was a red, I picked it up and gave it to him and said, "you've dropped your scarf mate" that was the cue for my second good hiding of the night, I was off school for the rest of the week.

Anyway, the lad who grassed me up played football with us on Sundays for many years and I hated every bone in his body, I still see him regularly and he always tried to speak and says "it were a lng time ago, forget it" FUCK OFF YOU MUNICH TWAT and no I didn't vote for your daughter on X Factor.

The second betaing I got was off a lad who I went on to work with at Strangeways for a few years, he was another who said "forget it mate, we were only young", FUCK OFF YOU MUNICH TWAT you were billy big bollocks with all your mates.

My question is - is it wrong to HATE people after all these years?

I was in the Paddock that day and it looked a bit nasty in the Lever end, can you give us your version of the events that day on the Lever before,during and after?

There were a few hundred Bolton fans on the Lever End ,in the middle at the back, with the police around us & the rest of the end seemed to be mainly munichs.

There was fighting & missiles flying all through the game but Bolton managed to stay in the middle - there was nowhere to go anyway ! When the gates opened (about 75 minutes ) more munichs flooded in from both sides & attacked Bolton from both sides & got behind Bolton fans. From the back they charged down ,& Bolton scattered down to the front & just got out any way possible.

 

It was the most away fans i've ever seen at Bolton & the majority were lads. That season ,they overran everywhere they went,(except Cardiff,i think )with the police unable to cope with the numbers they were taking.

Athy- doubt I'd ever be able to put behind me those 'slappings'.

 

My ex gaffer told me about his son- just a young teenager out on his own one Saturday, going about his business, not a footy fan. Happened to be at Victoria Stn. when a load of Bolton fans arrived for the match.

 

Smashed the lads face, if I remember rightly some damage to his eyes. Fookin' well 'ard eh? If anyone had reason to hate BWFC et al, he did. But he didn't- he was a top fella- perhaps could see the shock and embarassment on my face when he told me.

 

I don't hate any club- just want to beat them when we play.

It's just certain individuals that spoil it.

I go back to the 3-0 win in the late 70s, But the event that cemented it for me was much more recent.

Ferdinand was banned for 8 months for missing his drug test - something the club were complicite in. Now despite their complicity (spurred on by very dubious motives) their solicitor Maurice Watkins said (and I quote the link above)

"It is a particularly savage and unprecedented sentence...".

Two problems with that (apart from the hypocrisy):

i) He was on full pay and so would earn more during his ban than I or any of us would see in many many a year. So much for "savage".

ii) But worse, much worse was the fact that this had happened just two days days before:

What a total disgrace.

 

The finest Cup comeptition in the world with a wonderful history that I for one would give anything to see us win - they decide they can't fit it into their busy schedule. The whole integrity of the comeptition was ruined.

The CCTV was in opperation on Chorley Station and recorded the ruck, and somehow the footage went missing. So they flew these specialists over from the USA to obtain the information off the tape. A good mate of mine ended up in Haverigg HMP.

Oh I forgot, flashing cameras every time a Man U player takes a throw in.

I grow up hating man u being a bolton fan, however the last few years ive worked in liverpool (before that i worked in manchester) and the LFC fans dont half talk some shite. Whole city is like that. Its got to point i dont mind man u winning trophys cos it pisses the scousers off
