April 11, 201016 yr I must be getting soft in my old age really happy for the fans. I wonder if bonus' will fuck em over this time?
April 11, 201016 yr I am so chuffed for them, come on Pompey!! Did anyone see Westy jumping around after the Pen went in?? i dont think he has washed his chef pants in a while, great bloke
April 11, 201016 yr The old romantic in me said 'Hooraaah for Pompey!' Plus I dont like Spurs too much. Thankfullly, they are far less important than they think they really are.
April 11, 201016 yr Relegated, but in the F.A Cup final, what a crazy season there fans have had. They will be in Europe next season won't they?, has Chelsea already qualify for Europe by winning the League, or has that changed/are they allowed? Edited April 11, 201016 yr by DidledeeBwfc

I hear earlier that they won't be in Europe next year, as they haven't applied for a licence http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/fa-league-cups/portsmouth-will-not-enter-europe-should-they-claim-place-through-fa-cup-1918711.html

They'll probably get an exemption ..... everyone seems to be feeling sorry for them.
April 11, 201016 yr Did the Wanderers ? They'll probably get an exemption ..... everyone seems to be feeling sorry for them. unless a big club misses out in the league then they have no hope. imagine if liverpool are 1 place off qualifying.....
April 11, 201016 yr unless a big club misses out in the league then they have no hope. imagine if liverpool are 1 place off qualifying..... I think we can safely predict that Liverpool will be in Europe next season..........one way or another
April 11, 201016 yr Great result, It was good to see the fans so happy after the season they have endured.
April 12, 201016 yr They looked a decent team on that performance. Awesome pace going forward. It's not a forgeone conclusion we'll get the 3 points we need against them so easily.

Good job they are now in the cup final or they would be going all out; Just hope they beat Wigan on Wednesday night though; cant see wigan getting anything after Wednesday unless they beat Hull
April 12, 201016 yr I must be getting soft in my old age really happy for the fans. I wonder if bonus' will fuck em over this time? Best team won by a mile yesterday, said it for a while regardless of the points reduction they are not the worse team in the premiership .
April 12, 201016 yr Portsmouth don't qualify to play in Europa League next season because they have gone into administration. A pity because I was hoping that they would edge Liverpool out of qualifying.
April 12, 201016 yr Best team won by a mile yesterday, said it for a while regardless of the points reduction they are not the worse team in the premiership . I know where you are coming from, but without the deduction they would still be bottom, that is despite the fact they people playing for them they can not afford to pay. I was happy for the fans yesterday which surprised me cos i realy could nt give a shit about pompey, but it was a case of the underdog giving a big two fingers to the rest of the world. if we can not beat pompey we deserve to go down.
April 12, 201016 yr Author Best team won by a mile yesterday, said it for a while regardless of the points reduction they are not the worse team in the premiership . did they? as poor as spurs were, they were the only team actually attacking to win. i thought pompey played they only way they could, defend, defend, defend then try and nick one. and they fact that with 15 mins to go, spurs were still 1.3 to go through in normal time, and pompey were 10 indicates the whole footballing world thought there was only one winner.

Part of me really enjoyed seeing them smug cockerneys getting beat.
April 12, 201016 yr I am very happy for Pompey ! I hate Spurs, they are soooo deluded, massive chip on their shoulders, like Everton and Man City.....but I love Everton, so I hate Spurs and City for being deluded feckers!

Yep , on paper it was no contest spurs going for champs league place pompey relegated the previous day. But for sheer guts and determination then portsmouth were the better and fitter team , spurs did nt play badly but the final goal said it all . the lad who won the penalty could have run to the corner flag to waste time ,instead he used every last bit of energy to seal the win.
April 12, 201016 yr I thought it was very ironic that Pompey are sponsored by Jobsite. Every time i see that on their shirts i think it says gobshite, i no i should have listened more at school.
April 12, 201016 yr I am glad for Pompey fans for a good day out and now another one regardless of the outcome, but that is it. They are the unfortunate collateral in the way football is run these days and it isn't going to chance any time soon, but Portsmouth FC deserve fuck all!
April 13, 201016 yr While in the main I was happy with Spurs getting beat and seeing a romantic cup result I couldn't help thinking does this effect us in any way? If we get some unlikely points against Chelsea/Stoke our game against Portsmouth won't be as important. But the liklihood is that this will be a massive game which we have to win, surely this would have been easier against a demoralised nothing to play for pompey rather than a re-vitalised highly motivated everyone playing for their cup final place side. All hypothetical and really regardless of Portsmouths state we should be looking to win that game and not be relying on the state of mind of our opposition.

Or alternatively, their players aren't that motivated in order to save themselves for the cup final, given that they have nothing in the league to play for. Is their squad big enough to have players having to compete for places?

Is their squad big enough to have players having to compete for places? No, and the chances are that they'll now save them players that are close to triggering payment clauses for the cup final rather than playing them in the league in meaningless games.
April 14, 201016 yr No, and the chances are that they'll now save them players that are close to triggering payment clauses for the cup final rather than playing them in the league in meaningless games. The Premier League have warned them against doing this.
I must be getting soft in my old age
really happy for the fans.
I wonder if bonus' will fuck em over this time?
