I've always like Blake as a player but I wished we'd signed him aged 24 rather than 34.

Exactly, a back-up/4th choice striker who is better than vaz te and harsanyi. We have Elmander and Davies, plus potentially rodrigo from madrid and coyle still wants another so at least this season we should have a few more option from the bench

whats the point of having an academy? some of those young lads must be thinking why bother if we're gonna fill the squad with a 34 year old has been? give some 18 year old a shot.

Considering we only have SKD and Elmander as recognised strikers i can see why Coyle has signed him. If we are playing two up front we are going to need at least 5 strikers in the squad. He wont be breaking the bank and if he scores just 3 or 4 goals as sub he would be worth it.

Vaz Te was on more here than Blake was on at Burnley. JLS is on 40k a week here just to put in proportion the stupidity of Prem wages compared to Championship.
