Jack Wilshire

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed he plans to keep Jack Wilshere at the club for the new season.

Wilsherespacer.gif enjoyed a successful loan spell at Bolton last season and was tipped to go out on another loan this term.

Bolton have expressed a keen interest in bringing the talented midfielder back to the Reebok Stadium, while a number of other Premier League sides are understood to be monitoring the 18-year-old's situation.

However, Wenger insists Wilshere will stay at Arsenalspacer.gif as he is set to figure in his plans for the upcoming campaign.

"I think I will keep him (this season)," Wenger said. "He can play on the flank or in the middle, deeper or wider as well. He should get a few games."

  • That's fair comment. Taylor has his limitations. But he delivers. Without him, we'd be in the Championship.  Wilshere can pick out a pretty pass or two, but most of the time it amounts to nothing.

It is time BWFC wafted 8 million under Wengers nose.

I'll put you down as one of the sheep who've been told what to think.

He's English and he comes from Arsenal so he must be good right?

How many goals and how many assists for us? I make it one of each.

His right foot is just for standing on.

Possession lost in midfield time and again when he's trying to be billy big bollocks.

I'm not saying he's shite, but he's ridiculously over rated.

And he won't make it at Arsenal.

sheep? no, able to form own opinion yes.

stats go against a lot of midfielders just because they dont score goal or provide assist doenst make them shit or in your opinion overated.

the amount of times last year when he had nothing running through the centre and jack picked up the ball and looked to play people in must of been more than any other midfielder in our side.

and wont make it arsenal, really?

well seeing as he's probably in the pecking order behind fabregas who will probably be at barca in the next year or and diaby and ramsey whos probably going to need the rest of the year to recover, and with wenger not wanting to spend big bunce on a player to assume at his age to say jack wont make it at arsenal is ridiculous.

You can apologise when Arsenal get rid of him.

And anyone using Youtube to prove their point has lost the argument. Braaten and Wilhelmsson ring any bells?

To be fair, it was Gonzo who pu the You tube clip on.

im pretty sure i didnt mention youtube or insert the clip to form an opinion or my point.

while im not disappointed to 'miss out' on him, i do think he's quite a talent

but as posted above his numbers with us weren't great

1 goal, 1 assist?

it's ok blaming that on those around him, but we're unlikely to bring in torres and drogba over the next month

i just don't think he fits us that well

IF we do play 4-4-2 (with lee, petrov and 2 of elmander, davies and klasnic) i'd much prefer a fit sean davis at the side of muamba

thanks casino..my ever present wanderersways help in hand!

as for using youtube to prove a point,i was simply showing a clip to showcase the youngmans talent.think of it what you want , but i couldnt find a clip of him playing badly anywhere.

jack wilshere is an imense talent, and wether he would fit into our new/old system or not, theres no denying he would be an atribute to any sqaud in the premiership.

i agree we arent desperate for his presence, but the sheer fact that a player of his calibure would be at our club is brilliant.the lad has been widley touted as a future england star,by media, wenger, and owen coyle amongst others.they all cant be wrong can they?

with his kind of signing/loanee shows a bit more ambition than the likes of keith andrews anyway.

He's better than what we've got, whatever formation we play, end of story for me.

Anyway, it doesn't look like we have got him for another season, so let's move on.

Maybe a blessing in disguise, cos he was never going to be 'our' player.

I think we should bid ?8m for him.

If we were buying him with a view to the future i'd jump at the chance to have him and bite Wengers hand off.

However just getting him in on loan to hone his skills to the detriment of one of our own players missing out, I'd rather not.

He 'could' become a very good player for Arsenal but he could just as easily end up another Muamba/Larsson/Upson a good player at a mid level side.

This lad is quality, he will be a big miss this season.

Thought he was superb in the Emirates cup.

2 hopes of Wenger letting us have him on loan - no and bob !!

I think we should bid ?8m for him.

I agree let us test Arsenals resolve, if we got him for 2 years he would double in value over that period.

Also maybe Wenger is saying Wilshere will stay to use him as a bargaining chip in the signing of Cahill, that would not suprise me in the least.

I'd rather keep Cahill.

Wenger ain't going to sell Wilshere unless a silly money bid came in way beyond the realms of BWFC's finances.

I'd agree with that if I thought he was going to keep anyone halfway decent out of the side.

As it stands, though, he'd be hindering the development of the likes of Tamir Cohen and Joey o Brien.

I'm fairly happy to take players as talented as Wilshere on loan for a season, it's hopeless fuckers like Weiss we need to avoid.

I'd rather Holden/JOB got game time than someone who's going to bugger off back to his club at the end of the season, leaving us in no better position squad wise at that point.

I'd be happy if we got him on loan don't get me wrong but i'm not sure we 'need' to sign him as much as some people think.

He will be called up for England this year anyway. Doesn't really matter if he is any good.

Any new additions to the England squad, will have double the amount of pressure on them, and are bound to fail.

Going of the rections of new players on this forum alone, 1 miss placed pass from any 19 your old on his debut, and it will be the usual "Out of his depth", "not good enough".

They are destined to fail, because of fans like this.

My God, what drivel.

I'll put you down as clueless based on this gem of a post.

He is clearly going to be a very good player, good touch, passing, vision and strong for his size.

Not sure what you are looking for in an 18 year old prospect but for me he will become an excellent player.

If that makes me a sheep then fine!

I'd far far prefer Wilshire to J'OB on any basis

they seemed to be able resist Barcelona over Fabregas, so am guessing if they want to keep him, they will

Aye I'd much prefer to have Wilshere play for a season help us finish higher in the league and then go back to Arsenal, than JOB play for a season finish lower down and stay with us after the season.

as it stands, Holden is on loan for another year

His contract with the MLS expired in January, we signed him til the end of the season then OC gave him another 12 moth contract

That's how i read it anyway, but with the bizzare set up in the US i could be wrong.

we had him on loan from the MLS to the end of the season and then extended this for another year

in any event, at the moment he's only our player for another 12 months
