Halliwell Road has always had scooter significance for me. Can't remember the name of the small dealer of the left on the way up (Brookfields?) but I used to spend some dosh there back in the day. Had my first scooter accident at the junction of Eskrick Street when some vicar put his indicator on at the last second and I ploughed into the back of his Mini. Bent the Lamby frame and everything. Pre poofter days at the Peels Arms was a local well known scooter identity who let me put the wreckage in his back yard until I could collect it later. Rumours that I was admiring all of the skirt from Burtons lined up at the bus stop are completely false. It was a late indicator wot did it m'lud

Went downhill after Paul Abbott stopped being the main writer. According to the titles, the show is now just 'created by Paul Abbott' ie probably fuck all to do with him anymore. It's turned inti an adult version of Hollyoaks now for me.

I was pleasantly surprised to see it come on last night, but wasn?t surprised it was shite. Will watch it because there?s nowt much else on and there are a few funny lines in it tbf. but the whole show lost any edge it had years ago.

I'll buy that.Wythenshawe is another of Manchester's many rough areas but i'd rather live there than Moston or Gorton.

As above I believe it used to be all Gorton, but they do alot in Wythenshawe now

 

Last night was poor, but still more watchable than most current TV.

 

I watched the first in the series of Episodes at 10pm and then Shameless @ 11pm and both were really disappointing

The estate was in Gorton it's called Gorton Villas we were painting the estate while they filmed there they had that much trouble with the local scrotes they had private security company to mind the actors and equipment, part of the reason they built a set at Wythenshaw.

Near the Showcase Cinema on Hyde Road IIRC. Delivered some stuff to the set a while ago.
