It would have been a right and fitting gesture for the League to recognise Nat's passing away, but if it happened, we'd end up at a point where it would be going on every single weekend.

 

We're only arsed about their decision this time, because he's one of ours.

Did they not do a minutes silence/applause for Bobby Robson?I think there has been a few but you tend to forget them as they are the minuets applause now rather than the minutes silence.

I said that the premier league would not take part in any rememberance of Nat, that is why we the Bolton fans and Bolton public should wherever possible get down to Bolton on Wednesaday to show our feelings and pay respect to him for what he did he did for our club and the town.

We played Boro away, a few days after Brian Labone died....and we didnt have anthing....so the away fans just sang the labone song all game !!

 

I remember a few fans fuming that an applause or Silence was not done.

Nailing the armbands on seems a touch excessive.

As has been said, there are very few footballers who died and got a nationwide minute silence.

I don't suppose Sunlun fans were pissed off that Bob Stokoe never got one except at the next Sunlun game.

I don't think City fans were sulking when Malcom Allison died and didn't have his passing marked at every club.

Most clubs will have had their local hero and most clubs will have got on with feeling sorrow for their passing but they won't have expected the whole country to share their grief.

Let's reel our collective necks in a touch and realise that while Nat was a hero to us he wasn't viewed in the same way outside the club.

Lots of folk on here saying even though they'd never seen him play their parents/grandparents spoke highly of him and therefore he must be good. Well it isn't like that anywhere else except Bolton.

Sure, look through the other club's message boards and you'll see a few comments marking his passing. Look on our own condolency page and you'll see a few supporters from other clubs that have bothered to come on here and express their sorrow at Nat's passing.

By and large though, they aren't moved nearly as much as us, his fellow Boltonians/Bolton fans are.
