Bacon

Crispy or soft?

Pink or brown?

Fatty or not?

Featured Replies

Depends very much on the fat content, and to some extent the thickness. For example, streaky needs to be crisp, whereas a nice thick slice of back needs to be a "less well done"

Prefer mine crispy and usually trim the fat if I can be arsed. Lashings of HP sauce mandatory.

Great thread this

The old bacon debate

This topic has been done many many times before though

But its something I am passionate about

so Crispy

Crispy, with loads of HP, done !

I wouldn't dream of buying anything other than best back, usually smoked which, as stated, needs to be quite rare. My mum, when I go to see her, usually makes me a bacon butty with unsmoked streaky and cooks it crispy. Either are good but, again as stated, require an ample amount of HP sauce.

I also love it on buttered toast with Worscecesestershire Sauce

lightly done plenty of brown sauce.

red sauce should be illegal when it comes to bacon.

I don't eat it.

all bacon is good, cooked any which way, im not fussy.

as with steak though, sauce is not required. i want to taste the flesh!

Each to their own, Homer.

A proper sauce compliments the taste.

Proper incinerated for me.

No preference for red or brown, happily take either - but HP fruity is always a favourite.

On the verge of crisy with a dash of tabasco

Put a slice in a glass of water and leave it overnight, see how much shite comes out if it.

Gary Player never eats bacon because of this reason.

But I do so fuck him!!!!

Crispy BTW

All of the above, pinky brown with crispy fat edges. Unsmoked.

No sauce

On a lightly toasted and buttered english muffin

Pretty much spot on, old bean.

Unsmoked, back, the more thinly sliced the better. Just this side o' crispy is perfect.

Brown sauce is a must. Agree that ketchup on bacon butties is treasonous.

Obligatory steaming hot cup of tea to accompany is taken as read...

Edited by Colonel Mustard

tea is a must, quite possibly the most important part.

and it must be 'burn ya bastard mouth off' hot!
