February 24, 201115 yr Depends very much on the fat content, and to some extent the thickness. For example, streaky needs to be crisp, whereas a nice thick slice of back needs to be a "less well done"
February 24, 201115 yr Prefer mine crispy and usually trim the fat if I can be arsed. Lashings of HP sauce mandatory.
February 24, 201115 yr Great thread this The old bacon debate This topic has been done many many times before though But its something I am passionate about so Crispy
February 24, 201115 yr I wouldn't dream of buying anything other than best back, usually smoked which, as stated, needs to be quite rare. My mum, when I go to see her, usually makes me a bacon butty with unsmoked streaky and cooks it crispy. Either are good but, again as stated, require an ample amount of HP sauce.
February 24, 201115 yr lightly done plenty of brown sauce. red sauce should be illegal when it comes to bacon.
February 24, 201115 yr I don't eat it. Carry on...... get out! all bacon is good, cooked any which way, im not fussy. as with steak though, sauce is not required. i want to taste the flesh!

February 24, 201115 yr No preference for red or brown, happily take either - but HP fruity is always a favourite.
February 24, 201115 yr Put a slice in a glass of water and leave it overnight, see how much shite comes out if it. Gary Player never eats bacon because of this reason. But I do so fuck him!!!! Crispy BTW
February 24, 201115 yr Crispy or soft? Pink or brown? Fatty or not? All of the above, pinky brown with crispy fat edges. Unsmoked.
February 24, 201115 yr Back bacon Unsmoked Fat trimmed off Lightly done No sauce On a lightly toasted and buttered english muffin Cup of tea Sorted
February 24, 201115 yr Back bacon Unsmoked Fat trimmed off Lightly done No sauce On a lightly toasted and buttered english muffin Cup of tea Sorted Pretty much spot on, old bean.
February 24, 201115 yr Unsmoked, back, the more thinly sliced the better. Just this side o' crispy is perfect. Brown sauce is a must. Agree that ketchup on bacon butties is treasonous. Obligatory steaming hot cup of tea to accompany is taken as read... Edited February 24, 201115 yr by Colonel Mustard
February 24, 201115 yr tea is a must, quite possibly the most important part. and it must be 'burn ya bastard mouth off' hot!
