April 2, 201115 yr The La's. Without a doubt, they have some absolutely spell-bounding songs, that didnt make it to release. Check out these : Clean Prophet Noel Gallagher ripped this off for, The Importance of being Idle....he even dedicated it to Lee Mavers at a Gig in Liverpool, check twat ! Kitchen Tape - Recorded in John or Lee's Kitchen, the band running thorugh some new tracks (reportedly the 2nd album) These could have been huge !

April 2, 201115 yr Ocean Colour Scene and Milburn. Milburn were another band lost once NME started shafting the Arctic Monkeys.
April 2, 201115 yr Whipping Boy. I Am Kloot are probably one of the greatest North West bands ever, can't believe stuff like Elbow gets more fans.
April 3, 201115 yr Loads of these bands at some point have been overrated, NME covers, Radio 1 airplay etc. I'll chuck in The Thermals, still playing shitholes like the Roadhouse.
April 3, 201115 yr Author If band has even the tiniest talent someone somewhere will overhype them so that's maybe a little unfair, whilst probably true I wasn't saying they're not recognised at all. Moreover IMO they're better than they appear to be rated by most folk these days.....there's alot more shitty bands that get regular airplay on xfm etc :-)
