We Could Drop To 14Th On Sunday

Featured Replies

If we lose against City, Newcastle and West Brom draw, Sunderland beat West Ham and Villa beat Liverpool, we will drop to 14th in the league. It would be a terrible shame after such a good season, but it could happen. I hope it doesn't, beating City would be a very good season end.

Do us a favour Ted. You have obviously spent some time assessing the possible permutations to come up with a worst case scenario. Would you mind a revisit to tell us what the best position we could achieve is based on next weekends results?

Thanks in advance.

8th.

8th.

How many personae do you have on here, Ted? You're not that numbnuts COYWM58 too are you?

Ted, you got a lad called jimmy?

I don't like negative posts either, but he's only pointing out where we could finish.

But surely a positive slant would be:

With a bit of luck and a few results our way we could finish 8th in the best scenario.

We could just as easily finish 14th though so let's just aim for top 10!

That is a much better; glass half full type post.

No, just the numbnuts ReebokBear.

Well if we finish 8th we will deserve it and if we finish 14th we will also desreve it all down to beating city now no shame about it me thinks

well in that case, you knobbers who bleat on about it being a successfull season with a top ten finish, hope you admit you were wrong

ted is just telling it like it is.

with one game left, i can't be arsed with word spins

At least we're not doing the permutations that Blackburn and Wigan fans are doing - involving 15th to 19th.

I would love it if Blackburn and Wolves draw, and their fans celebrate staying up, only to find out that Brum, Wigan and Blackpool had all scored injury time winners...

I know it won't happen though

Indeed he is. Did I tear him a new arsehole?

Only looking for the complete picture rather than a TonyCee-ish synopsis.

Like Micky, I am a great believer in positive thinking. Miserable c?nts get what they deserve.

We deserve 10th or 11th this season...

I like to focus on the positives too, as does Owen Coyle...

but just to put a negative in there....is he Kevin Keegan in disguise...

Either way, it's sad we're talking about the possibility of 14th with one game to go.

If Holden had stayed fit, we might have had an FA Cup and a Euro jaunt to look forward to now.

Although the fact that we've not even talked about relegation for a full season is a nice thing when you site back and think about it. For a team of our size and our resources, that's something worth talking up.

So it seems our season will now fe judged on a single game?

theres every chance we'll end 5 or 6 points above a relegation place

spin it how you want, but thats 5 or 6 points from being rather a poor season

To be realistic most would have had us somewhere between 10th to 15th and thats where we will end up, there are many areas where we can improve next season, most fans know where these areas are, new players for underperforming/past it players and slight ammendments in formation for certain games should enable us to improve on this season, although the improvement may only be minimal in terms of league position. I am sure coyle knows this better than we do. My wish for next year is a larger squad, and the inclusion of 1-2 academy players coming into the squad, this year we have been threadbare in all areas this needs addressing.

ffs , we should of been 14th weeks ago , oh but hold on a minute havent the teams below us got less points and so have had a worse season . get a grip .

finishing very safe in the prem and having the best cup run for 11 seasons , what a sh1te season eh .

bored of reading the pessimistic drivel on here , we,re bolton ffs not top 4 , top 6 or top 10.

Behold a realist.

As we have discussed before, some folk just can't be happy unless they are miserable.

In the last three seasons we've accumulated 37, 41 and 39 points. So whichever way you 'spin' it, we've got more this season.

The only reason we're within '5 or 6' points of the bottom three is because the whole league has been more competitive this season. In the last three seasons the third bottom team went down with 30, 34 and 36 points.

This season more than one team could go down with 40 points or more and that has never happened before in the Premier League.

that'll be a great comfort to the teams going down with 40 points

and the ONLY reason we're within 6 points of 40 is cos thats all we've got

'eeee, in each of the last three seasons, we'd have stayed up'

out of interest, where did 46 get you in the last 3 seasons?

We're 5 points off 7th spot too

We're 10th, that's all that matters and it's all conjecture how many points off what we'll be next week at the moment

Talk about arguments for the sake of it

do positions matter in midtable mediocrity?

surely points are the way of judging improvement?
