isaacunt Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 if you were divorced, would you give your kids some money to buy the ex wife a birthday present?
Guest Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 Because its your kids your helping, not your ex. Makes you the bigger person! Allthought cant see how you could get any bigger!!!
Garrp Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 I'm the right person to answer this. Definately do it and hope the wife doesnt give them money to buy you a prezzie. They will like you better :D/
Guest william bear Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 don't think the current missus would be so understanding [-X [-X
Guest spudwatter Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 if you were divorced, would you give your kids some money to buy the ex wife a birthday present? No, sod it. If she couldn't be bothered to ensure to kids have a least a little money to make a gesture, then I wouldn't. I've seen fairly close to hand the bastards at the CSA, rob fathers as it is anyway.
Gonk Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 In a slightly different vein, but this may apply. Husband, wife & kids. Husband & wife hardly on speaking terms. Wife gives kids money for father's day presents. Father opens presents and throws them straight in the bin, in front of the kids, because wife has paid for them. Your thoughts on this scenario please. (and yes - it has happened. NOT ME I HASTEN TO ADD!)

Happy Wanderer Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 You should never take things out on your kids when your marriage is failing or gone all together. It's not their fault and I feel sorry for the poor kids who watched their dad throw presents in the bin that they had taken the time to buy, granted not with their money, but it's the though that counts. Your children are your prize possesions and should always remain so.
Exiled Girl Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 Your children are your prize possesions and should always remain so. Sorry HW, I think you could have phrased that an awful lot better. Your children are NOT possessions. A watch is a possession, a car is a possession. Your children are human beings that you have care of until they're able to look after themselves, and you also have a lifetime connection to them, whether you want to maintain that connection or not. And the father who threw the presents away was an idiot who didn't think through fully the possible consequences of his actions. 'Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.'
Gonk Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 Personally, I think he's a C??nt of the highest order. Unfortunately so do his kids now.
